hello every1…me again

Just wondering about if there are plans of splitting up soloQ players and 5man premade groups in the close future? ( and i don’t mean next year lol )

my apologies for that.

If a dev/or some1 that has contact with devs could maybe inlighten us on this?
i think a big part of the pvp community would appreciate it.

Their priority is working on the custom stuff so maybe when the next expansion comes out

They already claim there system will basically do this if enough people are playing. I guess there will never be enough people playing. :P

Last night I went from rank 8 down to rank 405 solo queueing. I honestly don’t care about ranks, but I know other people do. It’s sad when I’m in a group and beat a legitimately good team and they lose more rank than they should JUST because I solo queue. Feels bad man.

I honestly think the player base can support the split. With an additional ladder for teams, the team scene should thrive and they would have thier competitive outlet. With a dedicated solo que, solo players would have a fair match each and every game if the MMR is working and relatively stabilized.

More people would solo que if they were t worried about thier rating that they use in thier team going down the drain from you guessed it, being beaten by a team.

The pvp isn’t worth it anymore, if you don’t have a tryhard team of your own (but who in their right mind would wanna try hard for this pvp?). And no, I don’t consider hotjoin pvp, just like with wvw. Nor do I want a tryhard team. I want to play against decent random teams with a friend or two, or with teammates actually deploying their brain cells to a somewhat visible potential.

Last match yesterday before I finally logged, facepalming in the process: r40ish+ premade vs my team featuring two r1 rabbits.

As a solo queuer, my rank was pretty bad to start with so no harm in tanking it, but playing vs perfect setups specced for a particular map with newblets who multicap shrines and don’t even know the map is just pointless (I dare you carry THAT, Ostrich).

Time to quit again, I’d say.

I think A-Net is aware of this issue and will find a solution.

Sarcasm at its finest. In all honesty, the GW2 minimap is the worst MMORPG minimap I have encountered in the last 9 years or so. It just needs so much love to get upto par.

Someone should do another survey about the Solo or Duo Q / Ladder
And well it’s as important to make a way to distinguish teams and make a ladder for it. I really wish they would just make u register a team with like 10 spots or so.

Could Work like this:

People who Solo/Duo Q would be paired with and against others that did the same.

People who group Q would be paired with other group Q. If in this group, 4 ou more members were from the same team, then it would give ratings to that team, if not it wouldnt give ratings. People would make teams, but if some friends from diferent teams would want to group up, they would still have nice matched against other groups, not faceroll pugs.

I’m pretty sure the already existing matchmaking system tries to put premades vs premades, it’s just that there isn’t enough premades playing, so instead of making the premade wait for 10 minutes, the premade plays against randoms.
No matchmaking system, split or not, can put a premade of ranking A against a premade of ranking A if there is only one premade of ranking A queueing.

Spliting the comunity will most likely kill a lot of premades, tired of waiting or being stomped or stomping .

But separate rankings for teams/solo are a good idea.

Already got a warning from my last survey they deleted , so i’m not gone start another one , started this topic tho … :P

I’m not gone be playing till a dev posts a reaction to this topic.
And if they do not implement a split, i probably will just move to another game. ( and it wont be any games of anet thats for sure)

*solo/2man group = 1 Que option

*5 man premade = second Que option ( 3/4 man groups should find 1-2 more players)

if they do not split , it will make a lot of casual players leave in a few weeks.

and no solo players = back to the old problem from paid tourney’s
( premades fighting better premades and cry’ing about it ….. , but premades fighting solo Q teams seems normal for them ….)

i’m actually getting to the point where i’m finding it aggravating to solo-queue, as with most of the teams i’m getting/playing against it just isn’t fun anymore

Yeah, that would a good change. It would be great if people could register a team of 5 people somewhere, and then when you play with that composition, the team will show up in a separate “Team” leaderboards. Then we can have the solo queue leaderboards seperately, which would make both of these actually way more interesting. I know of some great solo q’ers that would definitely be in top 100 if not for all the premades, now they’re like 500-ish.

I guess at this point there are 2 possibilities:

1. Anet is unable to split solo/premade queue because of poor programming.
2. Anet is unwilling to split solo/premade queue because they know their player base is already so low, that premade queue will be dead because of very long waiting times.

Either way if they don’t fix this soon, the casual players will not even bother to try tpvp because it’’s a total waste of time if you get set up against a premade team.

2 times it happened that I’v been in a tournament(played 20-40 tournaments the last 2-3 days) with a group with people from different guilds… don’t know if the other 4 formed a group and then joind and I as fifth player was random.

But I’m pretty sure the other team was premade since they all have been from one guild. And we won 500 to 49x was very close both times.

Temple of the Silent Storm the Tranquility and Stillness saved us(some nice fights at the end for the last stillness that we won wen both were around 450 points).

Getting pwned big seems rare for me. Of course I experienced a lot matches where the others won 500 and we only around 350 but still good fights and better than only getting 50 or 150… that is rare(people afk or 3/4 vs. 5 it happens or maybe if you fight some uber guild but that didn’t happen… last time I remember when there still were 3 round tournaments then maybe last round if you manage with randoms then you fight some uber guild).

Edit: tl;dr: For 1 match tournaments I think it is fine as it is. Should 3 matches tournaments be back maybe they should seperate.
