So that happened tonight. My client crashed (as it does often to many people), I logged back in quickly and we still won. Not only did I LOSE a pip after that win, I was also greeted with a 10 minute dishonor.

Surely there should be a way to prevent that from happening. Thoughts?

Better internet?

The client crashing has nothing to do with my internet. More with the client not being stable since HoT.

Check if your graphics card is getting too hot. That’s what crashes the game for me.

I don’t believe the issue here is why her/his client crashed but rather the fact that if someone disconnects from a ranked match, both the player and all her/his party members will lose a pip regardless of the matches outcome.

I was recently in a party in which a member of the party crashed at the beginning of the match and only got back in at the very end of the match. Our team of 4 won the match against team of 5 and as a reward we lost a pip. It seems Anet wants to discourage players who dare to have a teammate using unstable client or with momentary internet problems to throw the match. If your teammate disconnets, you have no reason to keep on playing as you will lose your pip in the end. Also those who dc have no reason to return, neither they nor their party members will get a pip, but rather lose one.
