Working Leaderboard and PvP forum relation
One of the main benefits of the previous leaderboard system was the ability to keep the PvP forum under control , because it was possible to relate a forumer to its position on the leaderboard and from there to determine whether or not his/her complaint was worth listening; the lower you were on the leaderboard …the less credibility your claim had.
This is something currently missing and this something that would drastically reduce the number of OP threads popping out every day about any class or mechanic.
I really hope that the League system will bring back that sense of “elitism” that any PvP centered game really needs to grow and maintain any sort of order regardless of the scale.
Well good thing you aren’t working for them if you truly believe that being high on a leaderboard means knowing problems within gamedesign aswell as arguments having more credibility.
There is a reason why many big e-sports teams have coaches for their players.
Those coaches aren’t even close to the coached players skill. But they know far more about the game then their players. Hell this is the same reason why coaches exist in sports aswell.
Do you really believe that such a coach is a better player then the players he is coaching?
Being high on a leaderboard means that you participated in vast number of matches with different level of skill, at that point you’ll see that what deemed as UP is not weak at all in the hands of an experienced player, likewise what deemed OP suddenly is not when facing with opponents of equal or greater skill.
Right now every cat and dog can open a thread littered with vast exaggerations, hyperbole comments and very biased, opinionated “balance” suggestions.
Except in few rare occasions where the poster is a well known streamer, you know nothing about the guy who started the thread.
For all you know, the OP of a QQ thread is somebody using a subpar build and goes against players with an optimized build, goes against them possibly without even pressing the dodge button once
Have you got the means to prove otherwise?…no you haven’t
Meanwhile I have screenshots showcasing the “pvp performances” of some the most “famous” forum warriors that while adepts at talking big, they really got nothing to show in terms of skill….pm me if you want some of these screenshots.
In the previous system it was very easy to “de-bunker” any attempt from inexperienced players to start a QQ thread; you’d go on the leaderboard and discover that this guy had like 100 games of which he lost like 70%+…….
You can call me an elitist jerk but…during the period of the previous leaderboard, the pvp forum was far less toxic respect to now…ask yourself why
What you’re saying is you need to bash someone for his leaderboard placement instead of simply making a counterargument? You do realize there are a few posters that do not use their main account in the forum?
And even if the poster is inexperienced, why shouldn’t someone with little experience open a QQ thread? If it isn’t a problem there are more than enough people to correct the issue without attacking the poster for his leaderboard position.

You’re talking about post validity.. it doesn’t work based on leaderboard positioning or X amount of games played.
This is one of those,
I don’t take vitamin/protein shake advice from a person who weighs 100lbs but has a Master’s degree in the area. So I rather take advice from a body builder.
Or taking financial advice from a person who’s read a billion financial books but only has 4k to his name, so I choose to take advice from a multi millionaire instead.
A smart person would listen to both… not pick one over the other because of “validity”.
Leaderboards is a terrible measurement tool for in-game knowledge… listen to a multiclass 24/7 duelist or that top player on the leaderboard who only plays 1 class on that 1 team? In truth, i’d listen to both players and make my own judgement for myself instead of shutting one of these players out due to “validity”.

It depends on which LB. Pre or Post December update.
If it’s post December update (removal of team LB) then I disagree especially during the second test ladder. A LOT of bads were ranking higher and way ahead of the people most would consider hardcore/veteran/knowledgeable/competent/kitten pvpers.
Number of games played doesn’t carry much weight because there could be a chance they played those games incorrectly or not according to capping protocols.
It really wouldn’t change much. Position on leaderboard doesn’t mean the post isn’t biased or has a flawed perspective because of profession/build, their team, the time at which they play, etc.
Leagues will help a little bit because they give perspective into problems at various levels of play. For example, turret engineer in the past was a problem for low and mid levels, but not for coordinated, high level players. But you still have to filter through the bias and people who are carried by their builds into higher leagues.
@OP:
Bad idea. I’m sure plenty of people have multiple accounts at this point and the one they post with isn’t their main.
