I think it would help the spam issue, because you wouldn’t have to use your (less than 10 sec) set-skills on CD knowing that they recharge when you next swap to is.

But may cause a burst dmg increase.

Thoughts?

It will increase spam because you can use all the skills than switch and have 5 more skill.

Skill spam exist because the TTK ratio is too high and there is very little reward for smart play, skill interrupts not rewarding for example, it just prolongs the inevitable by a few seconds . Also it doesn’t hurt that the CD for skills are too low. That is why I like referencing the staff elementalist, a good chunk of their skills are situation while other classes skills are not. You can’t just spam the 4/5 the Staff elementalist skills, cuz it is a waste.

The current PvP system amount the gif below.

no weaponswap would decrease skillcap…. it would also make certain classes completely broken

I’m looking at no cooldown class Thief
Warriors who’d need a buff because they have a tree based on weaponswap cd decrease , warriors even if they get nothing.
Mesmers.
Possibly Ele.

I can’t think of anything else really but this has been brought up theres a 10 page thread somewhere near the end of the forums too bad the search function doesn’t work…

The Thief is probably the class that would be least affected by such a change. After all Initiative is shared across all weapon-sets so switching wouldn’t really give an ability advantage and would be entirely situational.

Currently I’m undecided if it would make the game more skillful.

On one hand it eliminates the “commitment” you make to a weapon when switching, even if it is only for 10 seconds.

On the other hand the cooldown system really dumbs down the “weapon switch decision” because cooldowns dictate when to switch anyway.
