thats not what i was asking, thats not what i was asking at all.
did you read what i typed or just saw my title and pasted 2 channels…?
Nobody wants to upload fail videos. But you can watch streams though.
Those videos aren’t meant to be informative, they’re more for showing off and boosting the poster’s egos. If they were unbiased and informative then their flaws would be revealed and they wouldn’t look so perfect and brilliant to the viewers lol.
I’m a youtuber and whilst I post some montages of me stomping people. I usually also do a full gameplay video of me just playing the build in a match. Sometimes, I get stomped pretty bad and I explain why.

now that you mention it the only person that posted a informative roaming video was that necromancer guy who makes guides about necromancers.
he made a pve ,dungeon, power, condition ,tanky, and even a healing necro build.
and when he made a roaming build he explained roaming perfectly.
I believe he mentioned he roamed about 4 hours in order to get a 5minute video of him stomping and “wining”. then he showed a brief super speed video of him just running around, capping camps, finding other roamers that just run away and sometimes getting killed.
I guess theres nothing wrong with people showing them selfs off in youtube videos..
Id just like there to be more videos of people explaining their build, showing gameplay of it and explaining the strengths and weaknesses of the build when he stomps or gets stomped.
The fights that I display the most skill in are usually fights I lost. Alas, the name of the game with these vids is to show someone roflstomping idiots that don’t know how to dodge just to make em look good.
It’s even more vain than streaming is!
@$20 an hour! It’s worth it!
Get over yourselves. Posting videos isn’t always about “showing off.” Many times it’s to show a new build, and how the build works. Many times it’s to help teach others how to play a particular spec. Many times it’s to show the strengths and weaknesses of the class. Sure, some people want to just show off but that’s not the only reason. So don’t act like everyone who posts a video of wins is just some egotistical noob. (No, I’ve never posted a video, myself.)
To answer the op, videos are often made quite honestly for entertainment purposes. Speaking for myself, I don’t want to watch a video of someone getting killed over and over. That’s not entertaining. But I do appreciate when those who create videos show themselves getting killed because it does keep a sense of realism in the videos.
Most WvW roaming videos are about killing PvE players who are keyboard turning and takes them 10 seconds to target a thief on a plain field with no other enemies nearby and the only skill they can use is autoattack. Even if the youtuber is good, they are facing PvE players doing daily gathering achies in nearly every video. This obviously makes good players seem indestructible and bad ones decent.

I never said there was anything wrong with it. I THOROUGHLY enjoy this video, for example.

Haha, that’s great! For the record, I wasn’t calling anyone in particular out. Only those who fit the category I described. I hear the complaint a lot and I just don’t like the way people diss youtubers who spend so much time and effort to put a video together for others’ entertainment, only to have others spit on their efforts.

I made a roaming guide on the guardian forums, strictly tpvp/spvp, not wvw. It’s build specific and I don’t have a commentary video at all… but hey, it’s a guide thread. Does that count :O
Op, somebody dying over and over and failing doesn’t teach anyone. But there are videos of people doing well in spvp/tpvp while also showing themselves getting stomped out. Otherwise, most vids are about them boasting and “doing good” :p
