So at the beginning of tiers in Emerald, Sapphire and all of Amber if you lose 2 matches you have NO incentive to win the next match…. If you throw the game you get an extra pip on the next win and it will dip your MMR making future matches possibly easier… Last season had a lot of people AFKing to drop their MMR so that they could get the consecutive wins they needed to zip through the tiers… not only can people still do that as the reporting system is useless (I have never heard of or seen anyone banned after being reported despite reporting a known AFKer hundreds of times with the rest of the people in the games) but it is now incentivized?

you get team mates based on your current MMR.

for once, they fixed the MMR tanking issue.

ummm NO if u keep losing your mmr will tank and u will be paired with players with low mmr meaning u will paired with players who has no clue how to play. even if your decent other 4 in your team will prevent you from winning.

Ohhh I see where you are taking this… That doesn’t logically pan out unfortunately.. if a good player is on a bad team vs a bad team they will run something which can carry and win, or win more than lose… If 2 teams are rubbish but one has a star player then the one with the star player’s team will obviously win more than lose. So my point stands… after 2 losses you may as well AFK the 3rd game to get 2 pips the next game and tank your MMR

While that may be true eventually, it isn’t right now, because most people are still in Amber and Emerald. If you want to progress now (and not later when everyone has hopefully shuffled into their correct divisions) then tanking your MMR is only detrimental.

Last season punished high MMR, this season rewards it. Lots of people whining, but I love it.
