You know engineers are op when. . .
Same way a mesmer would announce time warp/molymorph moa is up? Or a ranger’s entangle? I don’t see how this is an indication that engineers are overpowered. All elites are a bit “op,” and their long cooldowns reflect that.

Ye. I agree, Tomes are a bit op.
I think everyone knows engis are OP right now. cele rifle engi and turret engi both need big nerfs.
That said, I personally don’t have a problem with the supply crate.
Turret engi fine.

I don’t think engi is OP though. Not even celestial engi. The problem is (or looks to me to be) that people don’t want to take the time to learn how to counter them. If you’ve ever played an engineer it shouldn’t be that hard to not die to one. They have so many weaknesses and counters that it makes me laugh every time I read they’re so OP. As someone who plays a lot of engineer, I’d call necromancers OP if anything. Can’t say for sure whether they are or not, since they’re my hardest counter and I’m biased in that regard.
That’s actually a smart move. It just shows that this particular engi is a good player (like when a mesmer in soloq announces he’ll use his portal). Supply crate is extremely powerful, and also has a very long CD, that’s why you should announce when it’s off CD. If the CD was so short that you didn’t need to tell your team, then the skill would be OP. Maintaining 10 stacks of might without blasting a single fire field is OP, supply crate is not.
engi turret is imbalanced as kitten.. coming from someone who plays all classes.. the turrets alone kill people.. even if the engi isnt doing anything at all.. how is that not op? just like necromancer elite.. is ridiculous

Why pro teams don’t use it if it is OP? May be it’s OP only vs novices?
my Necro dont have OP elites
hell most of them are even close to useless lol
now im sad :/

I played with Targ’s team last night and won two matches against a team with 3 turret engi back to back. The way to deal with them is, when we are even number, I would try to quickly kill the rocket turret asap and the team trained the engi away from his thumper turret. When we were outnumbered, and I noticed that they already dropped all turrets on points, we moved to assault the other points. On the second match, I played condi engi and just kited them until they are down.
The build is cheesy but with proper call and communication, it’s very easy to deal with.

I’ll tell you this – The OP of this thread doesn’t seem OP to me.

I agree, crate is OP; so we should probably buff Lich to counter. Maybe a mesmer/ lich combo? Lich +3 Lich clones. Casting Deathly Claws (1) grants 20s super speed and 20s quickness, stability non-removable, up to 3 bounces and clones copy spell (of course). Reduce cast time down to .10 seconds and we will call it good. This way we have enough clones/ bounce damage to get rid of all the turrets in a timely manner.
I will propose this to Anet.
#1 Player Comoros
Engineers got more ground control than guardians.
So a skill that can only be used 3 or 4 (max) times in a match is OP?
Tell me more…
If the stun misses, its useless. So easily wasted as well.
NOTHING wrong with Turret Engi, its a terrible build with obvious, glaring weaknesses that puts a team at a disadvantage on MOST of the maps.
However I will say that Cele has change PvP to a significant degree and does require a small adjustment to bring it back in line. But OP, no. If Cele engi’s were OP, we would see more Necro’s.

Isn’t OP a PUG as well? Nothing wrong with that but it seems to me that you are putting both PUGs and engies in a bad light.
Celestial eles are way bigger ahsswholez to fight against

I think cele has much higher skillcap, because bad d/d celes are just nothing but cannon fodder rushing in and dying meanlinglessly.

Bad d/d ele here! I use celestial amulet on ele and I’m trying to learn the class in PvP. I suck so bad. I get murdered repeatedly, and quickly. If celestial amulet was so overpowered, I’d think I’d have an easier time on ele tbh.
Cele engineer is a different story. But I’ve been playing engineer for years now. I’m not the greatest! But I do okay! I can’t attribute any success I have in PvP to the amulet alone though. I do just as well as a condition engi using rabid.
Cele eles are borderline OP, due to the amulet. No way a class should have that much dmg, coupled with that much healing and then a heap of prot on top of that. The amulet needs adjusting.
That being said, the biggest OP about d/d ele’s is the LW. They need to fix that crap, as a simple macro and you can go from 1k to 20k in about 2-3 seconds..

No, it’s not due to the amulet. Try killing anything as a celestial engi without that sigil of battle and might stacking rune.

The should nerf engi turrets only in pvp dominion maps , give a restriction of 1 turret or something .
And people who say that arent op , explain the large amount of people who play them , including me

Turret engies are not op. I’ve been playing the engie for a while and never ever had any problems encountering turreteers.

I think the problem isn’t that they are “OP” it’s that they are in such abundance.
Engineer has been daily nearly every day or every other day and people flock to this class and there is usually 2-3 per match. That’s 30% of the matchings when theres 8 classes.
Even beyond that, some matches have 2 engineers and 2 d/d eles on the same team. Having 4 bunker classes that have high damage output, aoe support, damage and conditions can be a very difficult team composition even if those 4 are soloQ.
The supply crate does feel a little bit strong compared to other elites.
2 second AoE stun
Blast finisher (might or heals or stealth or w/e)
AoE heals
General heals
Immobilize
Damage
If traited, they will explode on destruction – doing damage and knocking back
(Unsure if this applies to supply crate) – Reflective turrets and Self repairing turrets
Creates a reflective shield and they are “harder” to kill.
Cele amulet probably should get toned down a bit. Especially on classes that have insane amounts of heals and heal over time.
… you sign up for an engineering class so you can become an Engineer.

Again!!!, Cele gear DOES NOT need a nerf. MIGHT does, and Anet is doing just that in the next balance patch.
