Not hard to avoid but as far as I’m aware if a thief screws up he is dead. And I’m guessing that in a normal game it would be more likely for the thieves to be inexperienced do to the fotm effect. Thefore his opponents were terribad too.

Lol, gotta update your view then. Having 1+ Thieves doesn’t mean a loss anymore. No one can tank against 2 Thieves. You will be able to abuse the 3k range travel to +1 fights and down people instantly.

No.
If as a thief, you screw up against DH, just disengage and find another chance. Your mobility is better than DH by a mile. This is hardly a counter, let alone hard counter.

unless they werent DH , or simply were incredibly bad or afk or joined at the last moment
looks like a lot of “die hard” thieves decided that they were mains again because of no more bunker meta. kitten cowards

This used to be the case prepatch as well as previous meta versions of the game. Though, Thief has always been a great 1v1 fighter, if that Thief didn’t play 100% he will lose to a good Guard. In SoloQ, Guard countered Thieves for the most part. At the very least, drove him off point and forced to rotate elsewhere.
Now currently… this no longer happens. Thieves currently have a HUGE advantage over Guardian now.

In my experience thus far, all these thfs showing up has not been a good thing at all. I’m at the point where i hope the enemy team is full of thfs to assure a victory.
It’s not that thf is bad, it’s that the quality of thf players seems to have dropped substantially and all they do is die constantly.

If you still have the mentality of holding a point, you haven’t adjusted to the new meta yet. It’s about kill/decap and fast +1.
Honestly, I enjoy the new meta a lot more than the old one. They just need to tweak a bit of Thief/Necro/Scrapper and it will be closer to balance.

Oh is that a new rule for season 2? I saw plenty of bunker mesmer and rev stacking.
2 thieves sux in every scenario
And 1 thief can have a really hard Life in teamfight and in 1vs1 so basically remains a +1 class.
And not always is possible to do a +1, most of all in a patch where the bunker are not so bunker like before.
There is a thief hype cuz the patch is new and many people didn’realize that thief is not so strong how They think
Reve and Dh guarantee less mobility but a better scenario in duel/teamfight.
Thief is overrated
DH counters thief because 1 true shot takes half the thiefs health and 1 trap also takes half the thiefs health
but if the theif masterfully dodges everything like pro esports champion he can win
So the conclusion is or you have a good thief in team or probably better to not have a thief in team.
Looks like you guys got carried by the Necro.
I played unranked during S1 couple of times and once we won with 3 thieves vs 0 thieves. It’s unranked, the things are goning on there have nothing to do with meta.
