Zerging points
To be completely honest PvP is all about who cap capture a point the FASTEST, and the fastest is by zerging usually. So in essence PvP is about who zergs the fastest.
Let me say, first, that you can tell your team was not actually going to zerg at first, or they would’ve won mid (gate), but then they got caught up at your home point i presume?
Let me teach you how to counter zerg, which it’s hard to beat when your team can’t 1v1, but if they can, try to get your team to do this.
When the opposition caps their home (far), mid, and begins to proceed to your home, try to get your quickest mate to far as they are either doing a 0-1-4 split leaving far open, or they are doing a 1-1-3 split meaning they’re very bunky and can 3v5 at your home point, OR, they’re 0-0-5 meaning you can back cap the entire map behind them.
Under all of these options if you send 1 to far and 1 mid and YOU CAN win the 1v1’s there, then they will have to react in a responsible manner of a 2 to their home and 3 mid, or they can respond in a stupid manner of 5 mid, 5 to their home, in essence, you need to be faster than them. You were on the map i call the “big buff” map as the buffs alone can basically let you win it.
When the 8:30 buffs come up they will more than likely zerg those points because as I said, they will zerg anything they think it’ll take to win, send your 2 biggest bunkers to tranquility, your quickest players to stillness, since they dont have a brain stillness should be open, if not, a quick 1v1 should do it. So, your spread is now 3 to tranq 1 to stillness, they should get angry att he fight at tranquility and send 4+ there, meaning that 1 if not 0 are on the map, now is your chance to have that fast player at stillness back cap EVERYTHING. Your bunkers will be dying if they have to bunk more than double their numbers, try to flow in people that you know can keep them off the buff as long as you can, if you lose it, no issue, you already have someone on a point to back cap the tranq, and you have bunkers rezzing to cap home.
Obviously strategies vary per map and some people might not agree w/ my rotations but so far these havent failed me and sometimes you can’t break your teams zergs and if your team cant handle a 1v1, well, you’re screwed there too. sPvP is a rough place to live cause sometimes, the other team is just better.
I recieved hate mail for saying that “PvP is about whoever can zerg faster” or whatever, so let me explain.
In PvP, you tend to send 1 man home to bunker it or to cap it then assist mid/go far, then you send 4 mid, that is a zerg. Then when you win mid, you can go for a 3 cap where you can rotate to have 1 bunk mid, and send 4 far, or 1 home 1 mid, 3 far, that 3 man sometimes is called a zerg, if you get hit mid, it’s about how fast your 3 man can react to that attack, aka how fast your ZERG is.
A guy named Ozzy The Insane mailed me, “Maybe hotjoin is about that, but hotjoin is PvE. Stop spreading total bull**** in the forum w/ 0 PvP experience”.
I’m not saying I’m jesus at PvP, but I am rank 80 with 2.5k+ PvP matches and I do know what I am saying. When you fight higher tiers, they will have a roaming crew, I fought the yumy team which consisted of 2 D/D ele’s, a DPS Warrior, and 2 thieves, one being Caed, and you knew exactly where their team was cause they were a team of 3, 2 thieves and a D/D ele, and they moved around the map and took out all possible roaming groups.
Interpreting what Ozzy was saying how zergs are for hotjoin, that’s false… everyone has zergs, it’s how you win the game it’s how ApeX won the ToL cause their 3 man “zerg” if you will could out bunker ALL others. So, if someone has a counter argument to me, please do message me on the forums cause I am curious to know what others might say.
well actually i experienced some success by zerging far with my team, in team arena.
we went
1 home – guardian
1 mid – ele
3 far – thief engineer warrior
we quickly took out their bunker before the rest of them ran back to help. it all went south for them. by the time they finally did wipe us out there, we were leading ahead a lot of points for holding 2 points.
before the start of each map, i would ask our engineer what’s our tactic?
he would say we rush far, because that would draw attention away from mid, so our mid can bunker better.
well we had 5 wins and 1 lose that night.

nowadays i dun play team arena every day though because my team members often find other members to fill up the slot very quickly and they will only find me if they cannot some other people to fill up the slot. i.e. i’m a substitute.
