Ill be honest im losing alot, not to mention all the goofy builds and i had a match were we had 3 thieves I on Dh and 1 necro.

Idk, ranked has insanely long que times and unranked seems full of just really bad builds and players. Or am i just the only one?

Unranked is always kitten. I don’t expect they can fix it soon. If you think matchmaking for ranked is bad. Matchmaking for unranked is far worse. The skill difference among players in a match is too great.

People usually use unranked to test builds and play weird cheesy or kitten build. So they are everywhere. Just imagine unranked as a circus with a lot of clowns. If you play too serious in unranked, you will just get angry. Well, that’s what I told to myself xD.

Same, i like unranked, I’m honestly not taking it seriously as in playing full on meta builds. Doesn’t mean that i’m throwing the match nessisarily. I see the same with other diamonds and ruby players, testing new builds and a like. I honestly think it’s not just new players but als vets taking the time to practice new classes or new builds really.

I don’t mind unranked to be honest, I can’t tell much of a difference between it and ranked other than people running all sorts of strange builds. I have noticed a large increase in the amount of afkers in unranked, today I had 3 matches in a row when someone in my team went afk when we were less than 50 points behind (they were 3 different people). Afk players do not bother me though and I like using unranked as a chance to improve my play on both my main and other classes between seasons without anything I do harming me ar anyone else.

I find it egotistical that people go unranked to test builds or learn new classes, you expect others to play seriously when you don’t personally, avoiding hotjoin because considered “too casual” then go unranked and say " I don’t care"..what a loser kind of behaviour

Unranked is what it is. People testing builds that either don’t know how to get to hot join, our they don’t care. I prefer ranked and can’t wait for the season to start again.

unranked is unranked, stop acting like it suppose to be competitive, players go there to play w/e they want. if u take it seriously u already lose. besides reading kitten in pvp forum is better than playing in unranked lol

Unranked is a mix. I’ve been on great teams and terrible teams. Had good competition and not so good. It is what it is. You can bemoan Anet for not having lots of different divisions for unranked, but honestly, we probably dont have the players for it. You would have to expect long queues.

Testing builds in unranked is okayish, IF you tested them in custom arenas first… which most dont.

But doing bad rotations, fighting off point all the time is just plain ruining other’s matches, and that… in my book… is a form of griefing.

Crux is, you get at least one really bad player/griefer each match… which makes it horrible if you actually play to win. Because that one player isnt just afking, no… he goes out and dies like 20 times… feeding points to enemy without generating his own.

Well.. They should change the wording, from unranked -> circus. coz even though it’s unranked, it shouldn’t mix players with big skill gaps.

Unranked is terrible

Only in unranked can I play thief and watch 3-4 of the other team think I’m a pokemon and chase me all over the map trying to catch me.

It’s both hilarious and saddening.

Unranked is horrible right now compared to the way it is when ranked is around because there are a ton more organized premades in unranked atm farming all the random pug teams, and all the newby players that are usually in ranked are also in unranked atm making it EVEN more difficult for solo players. But it’s ok, whenever my teams encounter such ridiculous matches usually everyone just goes afk and waits for it to end, so no biggy. There’s more important things in life to complain about…moving on.

I wrote this thread because i was unable to get my PvP dailies. I actually yesterday went back to meta ele so i could get the 2g and the potions.

I dont know, unranked has a mixed feel to it. When i am on warrior and i pop my shield and the P/P thief still uses unload. I dont feel like i should be playing. Yet i still lose the match big. It just becomes a bit silly i guess.

I remember someone posting on this forum helseths rage video on why he quit streaming gw2. He would just farm players in unranked because there was no challenge for him.

Now its completely different for me, just needed to write out my frustrations and wondered if others felt the same.

Yeah, once I hit Ruby, which was my goal for this season, I started running Unranked when I needed PvP goals for my dailies, and it was mostly a mess. I thought Ranked match-ups were bad, but Unranked are insane. I’m constantly grouped with people who have no idea what they’re doing, just always on the wrong part of the map, and then occasionally one other guy who seems to know what he’s doing and yelling at the other guys in increasingly desperate tones. There doesn’t seem to be any point to it other than getting the daily done.

On the other hand, I was on vacation last week and was able to play from a hotel on my Surface, with which I am very much not a good GW2 player, and yet the team I was on still managed to pull out a win, so. . . sometimes the horribleness of the players works for your team rather than against it.

Those who think DH are over powered and think they are entitled to Legendary status.

Then there are those who think DH needs buffs and absolutely thinks Unrank is absolutely laughable.

I think it’s all fairly awful and would enjoy nothing better than to have no reason to engage with any of it.

I just want ranked to come back and take away most of the premades and not so good players, oh and NOW all you people with high mmr in ranked can see how it feels to be teamed up with REALLY REALLY bad players, the only difference is in unranked the other team will have some bad players too not just yours, (unless the other team is an organized premade, in that case you might just wanna wait up top in the base for the slaughter to end). So it is a LOT easier than being in ranked with low mmr where you will be teamed with the worst players in the game in every single match, while being put against a team that is a LOT better creating impossible & hopeless matches.

I don’t know about that. I had some BAD teams in ranked, particularly at lower divisions, and certainly don’t think those were “working right,” but never as kittenome of the people I’ve seen in Unranked. I mean at least in Ranked, most of the players seem to grasp that capping points is a thing you might want to be doing.

The people you now have in unranked are the same people some of us had in ranked and could not get away from so ended up quitting ranked so yea it’s the same people just on other people’s teams now That’s why I said in another post that we should all share the noobs and stop putting them all onto 1 team and none on the other, that’s just silly, we should ALL get the same amount of noobs on our teams and stop cursing just 1 team to be doomed with them all. In unranked though it usually looks like both teams have some of the noobs and bad players instead of just 1 team except for when one of the teams is premade, being premade insures you get no noobs unless you want them.

actually i figured it out, i needed to come up with a build that wasnt meta since most people are not running meta. ( i ran into a few meta warriors which crushed me)

But the build has to have huge effects on team fights. So i run full trap ranger in unranked and it worked pretty well.

I find your comment silly because i to want to run non-meta (builds i wouldnt play in rank) and i simply was finding it hard since matches were very lopsided. I was playing axe/axe sword/shield warrior, i was playing dps staff ele, i was playing rifle engy.

I was just not ready for all the terrible builds people were running were no one is running support, bad rotations, etc etc etc. I wouldnt call it MMR, for or less I becoming frustrated.

Actually, if you tanked your mmr in unranked, you get at least one carry-able body on your team. If that someone though doesnt want to carry (testing new build, seriously annoyed by your stupidity, whatever) then you have to step up.

Each time after season ended so far, the amount of trolls in unranked has increased drastically, until some PvE patch hit. After that, you get okay matchups again. Because all those “Im playing for fun, idc if I die 50 times per match because its FUN” players are then busy getting their achievements done.

Sooooo… only 8 days of horrible matchups left. Thank anet for small favors.

P.S.: The best profession for carrying bad rotations of teammates, is mesmer.

I just stop playing when ranked isn’t available.

It’s a cesspool, no different than hotjoin.

Yesterday, I had a match where my team sent 4 mid, 1 home (me going home), and the other team send 1 home, 1 mid, 3 far.

My team didn’t win the 4 vs 1 at mid, and lost the 4 vs 2 at mid. They did this before I lost the 1 vs 3 at home.

Its because they play for FUN, not to win.

You can easily solve this by being as toxic as possible. Not raging, just being sarcastic.
I like to count in chat how many times someone dies. It makes them ragequit really fast, and increases your chances to win

Unranked is great when the not-so-good players go on Ranked queue. (i.e. when Leagues are online, unranked got a super great player pool filled with quality)

Now since, it’s closed. We got toxic jerk, afk or rage quitters and bad players for a majority of queuers.

Please ANET, Like in the Test Season 1, 2 and Season 1… give the possibility to Queue in Rank for “off-season”. So, Unranked could have his majority of good players again.

Yep. 3 people went afk in the last unranked game I played. Two from my team, instantly after losing mid, 1 from their team after getting their chieftain stolen. What a clown fiesta. People who think league or Dota is toxic haven’t played gw2 clearly.

I don’t know if it is my MMR or what but I just played some unraked. People rushing far and die, people cap home in 2 without reason, not focusing target, doing weired things… And this in both my team and enemy team. So I will just stop play pvp. This is said for me because I can play only 6 days more then I can’t play untill september

Unranked was great until the season ended and all the actually-competitive players started infesting it again. It seems they feel the same way.

Can we please get Ranked back so the competitive players don’t have to put up with my bullkitten, and I don’t have to put up with theirs?

I have to say i dont know what the change was but im playing full trap ranger, vanilla warrior with axe axe and something happened.

I truly have no clue how MM works.

I don’t like unranked while the ranked season is “on hold”. But I don’t have another option either. So I just queue a little until I lose interest (usually 2 matches) and then go hunt down pokemon until the new season starts..

IMO unranked is nothing more than 5 v 5 hotjoin without forced auto balance. You should go in there expecting the same quality of match ups.

Which brings me to the population decline. In hotjoin, at peak hours, you have less than 40 players in all of the custom arenas. There is just overall less people playing the game.

Ehh might be true for some basic stuff, but the cooldowns and gameplay are going to be different with the meta build. Different strengths/weaknesses.

Lately Unranked has been incredibly easy… almost ridiculous. I’m having games of 500 – 70.

yesterday i had a match with warrior . he type on map chat he is going to enemy beast and post his weapon and build

ppl whispered him he typed in map chant and not team
i thought he was trolling but he did rush to enemy beast

we won btw while most of the time the warrior rush to help in 2v1 (we were 2) i really dont know why so always i had to watch the map to see what he is doing to counter my teammate action. so i rush to help in 1v3 situations etc….

also in unranked i like to test build and how to counter the meta. and most of ppl i play with i think same reaction like in ranked. some are bad some are good

fyi – so far support mesmer is huge help versus condi team (mesmer, warrior, necro) better than ele imo.
you just need someone to back you up if you being focused (like ele needs)

Yup, matchmaking is pretty much non-existent for unranked.

Unranked is…ok.

Balance is terrible, even though I’m playing a core build and doing alright. YES! I said core build.

The matchmaking is fair, at least.

I like it more.
The overal skill level is lower,but the players are more evenly spread in the two teams,and there’s way,way fewer blowouts.
Maybe 1 in every 8-10 matches.
In ranked you can get never ending streaks of blowouts.
And there’s less,way less angry players.
And almost no afkers.Maybe 1 in every 10 matches,but usually players play and try to win even when behind the score,though all of the match.

Pretty much the truth!

Balance and MM were terrible, blow outs to either team for me.

I switched to stronghold after getting bored, haven’t played it much before and it felt fun, had three awesome and fun matches. After that I had six matches in a row, with one having two leavers and four having one, every time in my team. Decided to quit sPvP till the next season haha
