hey i was wondering if there are people who don’t even bother to level and play only Spvp

I have about 350-400 hours played. I’m level 2 =D

1000+ hours played, level 39

playing since release. my highest caracter is lvl 2.

yeh i love pve.

Max rank is actually around 65, but you have to farm hotjoin/custom arenas all day to get there so soon…80 will take a lot of time, as it should be in a game called guild wars..

What exploit? I let random people carry me through intro with me killing nothing and then never accepted the reward and went straight to pvp (Gets rid of the big shield popup)… please, enlighten me on where I exploited.

Just went pve for less than 2 months at the beginning, now i go pve only if i need to go to the bank xD

Sorry I would have quit this game long ago, if all I did was PvP. Only conquest, and the same cookie cutter builds. I like PvP, but nonstop is boring.

lvl 63 for over a month now ;-)

5 80s, 1 legendary, rank 30 in pvp, rank 450 something on leaderboards. Really liking the attention tournies are getting and I love the shout casts. I hope to be part of a top tourny team one day. Just wish my 2 favorite classes were stronger in tpvp. One day a team will need a Necro and ill get my chance.

800+ hours played, and still level 22 x)

I think op means rank 80 not pve level 80…you can do it in less than a week…

Oh yeah…no well i have 1 lvl 80..but that’s all, after that i already got bored as kitten..

I primarily play WvW, so I’m a measly 17.

I’m pretty sure PvE exists only for leveling and farming gold for siege weaponry and upgrades.

I think I got to lvl60 on an Ele after a bunch of people quit post Feb patch, the dynamic events and solo PvE is fun, but IMO it’s a modular feature. Gw2 is marketed as a competitive PvP title, and so this is where most of our focus goes (as should most of the dev’s imo).

Before release, most people expected this game’s dev studio to operate like it was LoL with pve “tacked on” to provide filler content and anchor the game into the “mmorpg” genre. You can imagine why the game’s concurrent user ratings dropped by 80% in the first month, once people realized that PvE would be the main focus of the studio.

We’re slowly climbing back as a community to bring PvP to where it had the potential (and expectation) to be at launch (esports). The game’s golden goose is it’s ability to compete in the world of esports titles, not it’s dynamic pve (although I will say they’ve done huge things for the genre with their PvE). It bewilders me why they would even touch PvE content production at this point, it’s an antiquated and foolish business model (trying to keep games alive with pve content expansion). Plus since the endgame is primarily wvw (more pvp), content expansions do nothing to promote the longevity of a thriving playerbase at all rely. This whole living story BS only manages to capture the attention of the minority PvE’rs for brief periods of time at nearly the largest allocation of dev time and studio resources. It’s just a poor business and design model on the producer’s part.
-no offence to any producers that may read these forums, just my two cents.

I really enjoy tPvP but I WvW more than anything so yeah… no r80 yet

What a very narrow view of things. It must be nice to be so tightly wrapped up in yourself you don’t notice whats actually going on around you.

There are some who like pvp and shun everything else.
Other prefer wvw and could care less about pvp and pve.
Still others spend their time exclusively in pve doing dungeons and fractals and exploring.

Believing that what you like is the core of the game and that it should be the focus of the developers solely is just misguided. There is a whole slew of players who could care less about pvp (or wvw…or pve etc). Don’t come down with the ‘chosen one’ syndrome.

He isn’t asking if there is anyone at 80, he is asking if there is anyone who is not 80 yet, which only makes sense if he is asking about level.
He is wondering if there is anyone who haven’t cared enough about PvE/WvW to get to level 80, but instead spent that time in PvP, where you get rank instead of level. And the answer is yes, there are many players that haven’t leveled past 2 (or even 1), despite having played the game for hundreds of hours.

only lvl 1’s with 1000+ hours played….. I HATE playing PvE…..

Your supercilious disposition would be mildly tolerable if you had actually engaged the premises on which his argument was built, and thus offered a logical counter-argument.

Many people came to this game with the expectation that PvP would be a core focus. This was due to their interpretation of the materials used to sell this game to the public. You can say that interpretation was wrong, but to claim that some people don’t like PvP, therefore, it shouldn’t be the primary focus, is to miss the point of his post entirely.

I have two level 30’s – necro & thief, but PVE bores me. Rank 33 in the mists atm.

Ever since they implemented the SPVP skins on the login screen, it does not bother me anymore.
