I just heard that it’s not a good idea to use auto targeting in spvp could someone please elaborate.

I kinda use it mainly for ease of use while clicking targets that need to be hit specifically.

i.e. in a group of mesmers when I see one kiting I use my mouse to target that one.

for say a warrior though I use autotarget.

trying to improve my performance in spvp.

So you can use certain abilities like leap, phase retreats without it targeting players and altering your course. Or if you want to free aim a certain ability for some reason(hitting stealthed thieves) without targeting some other guy.

Oh and if you haven’t done this already, unbind the turn left and right keys and bind them to strafe left and right aswell and unbind the backwards button aswell untill you can play well enough to not rely on it when it’s not needed(such a bad habit i see so many do which just slows them down even further but it has it’s uses though9
