A couple of things wrong with the way the ladder works,
First it favors pre made teams – simply because teams will normally keep playing even in a losing situation. Pugs do not, they quit and go afk all the time.
Pairing low ladder people with high ladder people, same as above, people with a high ladder score have more to lose and will try harder, people with low level ladder scores are more likely to tank a game or go afk when the game looks like a loss.
Individual ladder success should be based on individual effort, instead of using the capture points, the personal score should be used to some degree. In the last few days i haven’t moved on the ladder because of window lickers who tank the game even when i try and have a score of 200 or more when the next nearest has under 50. Basically if someone is a window licker, no matter how much effort i put in I’m penalized.
Currently the solo queue favors bunkers and not support. If you can bunk a point and gain enough points even with a window licking team you might not lose points. The fact that the na top player was a noob bunker engie (by his own admission) suggests this is true. even when he loses a game he probably has enough points not to lose rank.
4v5 makes me lose rank – again other peoples problems become my problems.
anyway i’m going to make a bunker engi to abuse the system as it is now.
