Problem is simple – i can kill a guard, sure, but it takes forever to do so before their defenses go down and i can’t do it on point because of the traps. In short even if guard loses, he still wins by sheer amount of time he was holding the point before i finally got him off it.

So here’s my question – which profession (in practice, not just on paper!) can either:

a) dispatch him quickly while possibly not going off point too much
b) outbunker it, so that it does not need to leave the point and can win even a long 1v1, as long as the point is not given to the guard until killed.

I understand you need to be skilled on some professions to do so, fine with that, just wanna know which profession can bust that can open fast, or outlast in on point so to not reward them a decap just by mere merit they bothered showing up on my point. Any good players here who beat guards at their game can provide me some answers?

That’s what i’m currently using and works well…as long as i don’t switch to gs, to watch them eat my burst and live while i die from theirs. But on it’s own rifle works well, save as mentioned – backline weapon – it doesn’t do much for getting the point back until they’re downed sadly.

the issue with this build is you have to play really offensive. sure it counters dh but it doesnt do much against everyone else.

that is true you can’t afford to lack as a rifle warrior. As far a the other classes, I find vantage points extremely effective but I swap melee if im not making progress quick enough or softened their defenses.

It’s a highly mobile, heavy DPS machine that ignores blocks/reflects, can range, and has a nasty melee bite. The one thing it does do is bring something against everyone else XD

a myth

Power rev is the only thing that has managed to kill me quickly under certain circumstances.

Rifle warrior is another one too but since there’s no cc like the power rev burst, i still have time to recover. If a rifle war does catch me with low hp its usually curtains.

Spirit weapons kills a dh easy lol.

Druid is counter to a dragonhunter. There is not a single guardian in the game that have given me problems in a 1v1 so far and I don’t think one is capable of doing so because Druid is just such a hard counter for guard. Druid just has too much sustain to be pressured by DH traps and other damage and it has enough pressure to wears down the DH over time. You will never burst the guard in 1 second but there is no doubt that you will win the fight eventually even if the guard is better than you are.

I’m not good but I can kill a DH easiest with a D/D boon corruption Necro with a combination of Chilling Darkness trait and Well of Darkness – (Blind/chill spam).
Maybe Plague blind spam if there is more than 2 DH.

Otherwise just the general: Use pets, use dodges, use obstructables if trying to avoid the pull, use blocks when running onto points, Aegis, Protection, Apply Weakness to the guardian if you can, Use skills that have evades, Use clones/shatters, use gyros, use minions, Use unblockable attacks or better yet stack a few if it’s available such as traits and utilities and have stability available if possible.

Hard counters – Rev, Ranger
Soft counters – Engi, Rifle War

well P/P tief might not be considered good but it can hurt a DH.
And i usualy beat them with ele …..
I agree 2 DH is a pain for many classes …
