it seems odd that we would have to pay transmutation charges to equip gear we are already wearing currently….. or maybe its just me

They give you 1 charge per rank in pvp, so if you are rank 40 right now, 40 free charges

well we get for our transmutation stones charges
the armour you currently wear in pve.. will still exist…^^

and the armour youre wearing in pvp.. u get one charge for each pvp rank
which means u will most likely get 6 charges if you already got an full pvp armour ..xDD

also its not based on your current rank, it’s based on your rank on patch day (when higher ranks require alot less points) so if you’re 40 now you could end up with 50 charges
(though i haven’t bothered doing the math, thats just an example)

so i have 8 classes = weapons + armor is total somewhere around 70 total transmutation charges I will have to use to get back the same gear I already am wearing!!!!!!!!!???

That’s correct.

The change isn’t that great for multiclass pvper only players, for crossover players (who play multiple game modes) it’s quite nice. I understand your frustration though.

well also dont forget about the rank changes. so basically if you are rank 54 you will be bumped up to 80 meaning 80 rank points

Plus if you pve any you already have lots of charges (unless you used your transmutation stones… which is hard to do IMO). Plus if you pve you most likely already have quite a few sets for so many classes you’re already happy with and armor you have equipped in pve will stay equipped, so that’s more or less a moot point.

I’d say 95% of my time in gw2 is spent in pvp but I have pve’d enough and randomly have ~150 charges (between the two types of transmutation stones) for when the update goes live.

Also, you can earn more charges as you play through the reward tracks.

This is a PvE update, not a PvP update. That’s why.
Yup, the whole new wardrobe system sucks for PvP players.

wait what? armors our toon is wearing the time of patch will be remove and have to be re applied? i have 9 freakin toons

It counts the new rank. So if you’re rank 80 in the new system, you get 80 charges. If you’re rank 40 in the new system, you get 40 charges.

I’m rank 48 so I will get bumped to around 60 or so which means…. I won’t even have enough charges to put all my gear back on that I’m already wearing.

Maybe if I un-equip all my PvE gear and put all my toons in the Mists can I get it to default to my current PvP gear instead? Isn’t there a way I can pick which of the 2 sets I want to default to when it starts? Devs plz? halp

you have to pay charges to use them from wardrobe apparently, even though you already have them equipped and they never required transmutation to use.

Btw, has anybody every thought of this:

This means, if you are only playing with a lvl 2 (or any below 80) char, you will have to spend transmutation charges EVERY. kittenIN. TIME. when you want to use a skin.
Only if you have a lvl 80 char, it will be able to wear those things without any transmutation charges.

I love how ANet promoted this “big” pvp patch, when in fact it is the biggest scam ever happened to pvp.
