can you interrupt d/p stealth?
I’ve done it many times but it usually works best with classes that have very quick CC such as a Thief’s Headshot or a Mesmer’s Magic Bullet. Remember, every animation has to be completed thoroughly in order for a combo to go through.
I’ve interrupted them plenty with necromancer DS #3. Helps when you notice that they drop black powder for no obvious reason to get your CC ready.
Things you can do to interrput/stun/daze/fear… etc based on each profession:

7. http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Stun
It’s fairly easy to interrupt them if you are able to do it from range (interrupt/fear/stun/pull/push skills). The problem is that you will not be able to interrupt them all the time since you are much more limited to stop them than they are at jumping into stealth. So choose wisely when this should occur, the worst time to do it is early in the battle, the best time is after they have used at least two teleport skills, or after they refuged, or after they spent some initiative and will be forced to use their utilities to dissapear… many options here. The only problem is interrupting them on melee range, you’d have to get lucky not get blind powdered in the face, which will blind you and force you to miss your interrupt skill, the time gap is really short to react to it consistently.

Necros, other thieves and Mesmers with Daze mantra are the best class to interrupt a BP→HS. Even rangers are somewhat decent, as SB#5 is pretty fast.
All other rupts are not reliable, unless you PREDICT their combo before they even drop the BP.
Trixxi Is Cute – Purple Fhaz: your daily roamer
dunno if i have lag (sort of decent broadband, in Ohio) or what, but they stealth before i see any animation.
i’ll try more though.
Timing an immobilize also works well as you can take advantage of them being immobed while stealthed.

Kind of, I get around this with teleports. But you can expect they will have used infiltrator’s signet, shadow step, or swapped weapons if you don’t get a shadow shot to the face.

If they blow a teleport (stunbreaker) for an immob, congradulations. If they switch to shortbow, congradulations. You’re free from any backstabs and easy application of stealth for 9 seconds. If they shadowshot you, then you’ve blown their backstab opportunity.
At the end of the day, a cooldown was burned, and you won’t be backstabbed. If a person can pull it off, the most vulnerable time for a d/p thief is when they are just about to enter stealth. Fortunately, it’s a pretty big tell when they are about to go into stealth. Unfortunately, most people are focused on rotations instead of timing their skills.

Shadow Shot => spam sheat weapons to skip the damage dealing part in order to stay in stealth. Still, if the immob is long enough the thief might not have enough time to BS you as he is still rooted next to whoever he teleported to.

I have never seen anyone use that technique wisely, much less when immobed. It puts them right next to the enemy (melee range) which is very dangerous. On top of that, they’re immobed and they’ve “revealed” themselves to a smart player by their blind from shadowshot.
What usually happens is they are forced to switch to shortbow and infiltrator away. Or, in most of my experiences particularly, they eat a large hit.
