those mesmers with condi from debilitating dissip, condi from crippling dissip, boons from PU, vigor from crit infusion and clones from deceptive evasion. stealth on torch #4 and decoy.

how does one kitten 1v1 them?

pls no “just run away” or “another mesmer” advises.

Mesmers are very fragile to conditions and CC.

Be slow.

Standard Condi PU Mesmers do a big portion of their dmg by:
-Clone death
-Scepter #2 & 3 which apply torment and confusion.

First of all, you should “turn off” your autoattack, so you don’t eat the torment of the Scepter #2 block.
Being able to fight the Mesmer from a distance, without risking to eat clone death conditions also is pretty helpfull.

The worst thing you can do when fighting a PU mesmer is to simply run around, swing your weapon and hit everything you see.

Boon removal. PU relies heavily on the defensive boons to live, if you can get past that they die.
