i been playing thief for 1.5k hours (game 3k) and had round 2k games of pvp i had tested out daredevil quite fluently with traits/amulets. i feel that the daredevil is more of 1v1 thing or point attacker more then pvp or wvw or even pve (unless you are roaming/duels etc).
I believe daredevil would not be optimal for today’s pvp meta because compared to other specs or even with meta specs daredevil is really weak if you try to teamfight with it or even trying to point-hold unless you go condi build “condi thief” which might be thing i guess but mard is kind of useless if you don’t win the far fight or mid fight and fight might take even longer depend on your opponents build/skill then someone can +1 you. but i see what anet want of daredevil different change of pacing with thief and the new reveal mechanics but i was kind of hoping to get rifle for christmas but i can work with the staff
i tried a lot of difference trait lines and wap sets
acrobatics (dodges forever)
deadly art (DMG DMG!)
tickery (kind of must to use with s/d and staff)
s/p/staff
s/d/staff
SB/staff
and other sets
First beta Test (zerker in wvw/pvp and bit of condi testing)
Daredevil seem okay with dmg but super strong with condi which was funny in wvw but really clunky with dodge movement and some of staff skills which was annoying
final beta Test (only zerker played so far) #zerkerforlife sorry condi :’)
Daredevil had lot of changes and some good changes (pulmonary impact buff which was needed and strange choice to make bounding dodger from leap finisher to blast finisher and animations and movement feels less clunky which is plus and Dash can remove immobilise)
But i would like to see how Daredevil stands up to other classes when HOT comes out with final product of every other spec done in terms of balancing. I wonder what other thieves think to daredevil in general so comment below thanks

Daredevil is really good right now to be honest, its not that clunky at all and they have done a good job at fixing the clunkyness we use to encounter. To be honest i feel a nerf to daredevil traits will come, i feel as though the majority are going to say “dash” is OP because of howmuch mobility it has
Dash is the only worthwhile dodge to take at this point anyway since all the others are clunky and makes you a target.
i think that the other new class are way to op, for the thief right now… even with a normal thief i can kill a daredevil in a easy way… and with the new ing you have no inv. so the only thing you can do its dodge … kind of boring playing with a thief right now… you have mesmer with perma stealth now (and with clones that atack you)XD ..you have ranger that go inv with a pet that take a lot of damage … you have ing that go inv.. and make your inv useless (with the new class).. the new warrior trait… with one-shot they can do 11k+ of damage.. so what is the use of thief right now.. cuz there is a lot of class that can make more damage than you do with better chance of taking a lot of hits.. (mesmer have skill to take no damage- ranger have skill to take no damage- warrior- have skill to take no damage- eles perma health.. and with the earth trait they take no critic damage- guardian have skill to take no damage- and what is more all those —- have a lot of skills to take out their condi’s…..)
Try this … and forget staff for now.

@dkayl.6509 it feels certainly that way but remember is still early days for balancing of other classes so have faith
@Inflames.8026 dash is really nice for movement and if you got SB fastest class from A to B which thief is renowned for and hard to catch works with dash stops hard CC
@Nelzaki.3062 compared to other classes i don’t think it needs nerf but some changes but i guess we need to wait for next time intill we meet the Daredevil
