In fact if they are bad just give them tips and move on is it really that bad to lose every now then? Pvp needs more people to get good. More people equals more Dev focus. Please stop with these elitest attitude s and just play the game. Rant over

Rank doesn’t equal anything but it could be a relative measure of experience.

Focusing on getting most points is a great way to cause your team to lose by the way.

Also its not possible to see your rank anymore, so this must be a troll topic.

Not dying and getting a lot of points doesn’t mean you’re helping. It could mean exactly the opposite. You should make it clear whether you’re talking about bases or score, btw. And even if you get a lot of bases, if they’re decapped quickly afterwards, it’s useless. So yeah.

And now he’s quoting his own post…=_=. Since even using forums seems hard for him, I can’t imagine how challenging the game must be. And yes, there are worse players than a WvW team (PvE players for instance? ever heard of them?). And there are players going solo in teamQ.

Awful text layout. You say rank doesn’t equal skill. But you think, getting a lot of points in a match means having skill. In addition, you seem to think, the ability to win a duel matters most. You don’t have to follow the players, as the minimap shows where they are going. Knowing where & when to go and how to split is very important in pvp. Not to mention, if 2 players are capping a save node together, it is obvious they have no clue. Today, I tried to give some advices in Hot Join, like “don’t cap a save node with 5 ppl, it wont cap faster” or “personal score doesn’t mean anything”. Nobody reacted. In addition, you are right, that having a high rank doesn’t make you autmatically good. However, the probablity of a player to be a good player usally increases with its rank. Take 100 R40 players. Not everyone of them will be “good”. However, take 100 R10 players and I would bet that within the second group, there are far less “good” players.

This post makes me feel like you’re just wanting to brag about how awesome you are. The conversation ’I’m better because I have higher rank’ is rarely ever made. In fact, I have NEVER ONCE heard someone say they’re better because they have higher rank. Ever.

No just bugs me the same thing people say in wvw when they are in tier one they think there better just because of it . Either one is either just a grind or a transfer. Some of the best people I’ve fought been on lower tiers in wvw and lower ranks in spvp. Just saying don’t judge people just on rank alone. Was the main point. Then people attacked me/assume I know nothing. I attacked back so just delete topic as it just getting dumb.

No I don’t think I’m wrong just not going to argue on forums. As I can’t think of a good spvp example. I use this do you really think jq could beat mag for example if they had the same numbers? JQ is ranked higher

I think ranks should always be looked at in context.

Does being rank 63 put you at a huge advantage over a rank 20? Odds are that it certainly does. Is it any guarantee of a win? No, although there is likely a big difference between the two due to the massive gap in experience pvp is always a fluid experience where you’re only ever as good as your last game. You can be on top one minute, scraping the barrel the next, and that’s regardless of rank.

Does rank mean nothing? Absolutely not. Unless you literally abused skyhammer farm servers the entire way there, being rank 35-40+ you almost have to have absorbed information and experience that will put you at a significant advantage over someone with less experience. You’ll be familiar with their spec, you’ll be used to playing against it and you will likely have played against very skilled opponents playing that spec.

The other biggie is class and spec, hard counters do exist which isn’t cool but still tramples all over who plays better in a matchup.
