Hello all -

My friend and I played gw2 somewhat hardcore in it’s first 1-2 years. We’re interested in coming back at a more casual pace. sPvP would be our main focus.

Any recommendations for a duo to pub stomp with / great combo to learn to master together?

Not really interested in a “play what you want” response. I’d like to hear what makes a good synergy in today’s arena.

Ele/Engi- Meta builds are the best 2v2ers in the game, individually best 1v1ers in the game.. what more could you want.

Engi/Necro is also very good.

Another great combo to learn would be Thief/Mesmer. Port around the map bursting targets hard and finishing fights. This is a bit harder to master but is very effective.

A condi ranger will beat both an engi and ele of equal skill level.

Engineer, maybe. But not Ele.

Ele has superior mobility and condi removal to make bleed stacks useless.

Thief & Mesmer for superior mobility.

Power Remorseless Ranger 6,2,6,0,0 or 6,0,2,6,0 (pet Soimoth very important) using Remorseless+stealths to stack Vun , you can use a mix of zerker/valk/assasins/cav gear/rampager gear or carrion (with food buffs the ranger can main power and support with condis on crits or use spike trap) Runes of choice , Krait or Ranger or Pack.

combine with Condi P/D thief sharing max Vun stacks , the p/d thief can Revive the ranger if he’s stealths / combos fail where both support each other.

rangers use muddy terrains / or spike trap to slow+damage and soft cc while the thief causes panic with stacked condis .

both builds are or can be stealthed based enabling both classes to easly regroup.

it’ll make a good roaming duo and the ranger can support anywhere Ranged with its CC + lb damage , though use S/D for defence also.

i think Floopy and his friend did this at some point in WvW

Probably the best 2 man combos.

Been duo’qing with my buddy for 2 years now. Best combos are Thief/Mes Ele/Engie Zerk Ranger / Zerk guard IMO.
Of course you can throw in a necro with engie or another ele with ele.

Go Thief/Mesmer, it’s quite underestimated in this meta with the cele Bruisers ongoing.

I’m a mesmer when I team up with a turrert engi it’s always crazy fun. A bit oped imo .
Warr/Guard duo is also very good. Condi ranger with Necro.
