4 easy steps:

- Just reset all ranks for every player to 0
- Then make the rank points so that they can be gained only in soloQ\teamQ and no more in hotjoin matches
- Give back again to every player only the rank points gained doing tourneys since leaderboard came out
-Reward rank points based on winning\losing a match only (X amount for a win, X\2 for a defeat)

I’m rank 42 now , without any farming skyhammer thing. ( took me around 6 months ).

With your system the high ranked people that did get there rank the honest way will get punished hardest.

who will suffer more ?
- some1 that got there rank 40 in 6 months of honest pvp.
or
- some1 that is rank 40 in 1 month of skyhammer farming .

If population was growing they would just ban people that farmed skyhammer . but its not growing.
They actually need to be really really careful what they do in order to not loos there full pvp playerbase.
( Hence no1 afraid of getting a ban for this, cause anets afraid of what the reaction to the bans would be. )

Skyhammer is only a side effect of the problem.
hotjoin in the first place should never reward rank points from the very beginning. Why should we get rank in this game for playing UN-ranked matches?
My proposal is the only solution I see that doesn’t punish too hard who does only tournaments, cos those people will have back their rank points based on how many wins and defeats. they actually have. at the same time it punish who got his rank just by farming hot join from the very beginning of the game.
And of course, banning all the skyhammer farmers is not really a viable solution nor it’s easy to do

Also I want to add that who gained his rank only doing tournaments and rarely doing hotjoin, probably will receive back even an higher rank than what he has now.
We all know that farming hotjoin at the moment is much more rewarding than doing tourneys, but in a system where only tourneys matter, people with 1k. tournaments done will see their. rank increased even.
