engineers nerf unnecessary, unjustified
Not sure about HGH.
But I am all for nerfing adaptive armor. Complete passive trait like this should not give such a high reward.
500 toughness over time was too much for literally doing nothing. I believe most of us completely expected this to happen (sooner rather than later in this case). I figured it would have been a simple 20% decrease, but tbh 40% isn’t going to do that much harm either. The 20% condition damage REDUCTION still makes this more than worth taking for many builds. Sooo, went from doing TOO much, to still doing quite a lot.
Gave too much compared to traits that did the exact same thing except it was easier to stack. Now it’s the same as the Necromancer one but still easier to stack.
A passive trait that gave zerkers toughness to a cele level? No thank you
Adaptive Armor was def over performing. It was probably the only valuable trait in the line currently.
The HGH nerf however is totally uncalled for. I’m really curious why I can stack Might faster and higher with my Reaper while just using Siphoned Power and Reaper’s Might and no other Might stacking attributes of any kind and has yet to be nerfed, but my pure Might stacking HGH build with multiple traits, runes and skills dedicated to stacking Might can’t keep pace and is somehow deemed to be over performing . Would love an answer on that.
I’ve stayed at this party entirely too long

Probably because Reaper lack disengage and active defense in general. They need to be high performing in melee combat because is hard for them to catch people. If they get in a fight then they are in it.

Necromancer gives more toughness (400 against 300 from Adaptive Armor now) and Necromancers version is MUCH easier to stack. You just have to give 10 conditions to an enemy without CD, so you just can have all 10 stacks INSTANT.
Adaptive Armor builds up much slower and needs you to get hit. So, you have to eat damage first to get the stacks. Necromancer can have all stacks without eating any damage.

My Reaper is far and away outperforming my Scrapper. Handsdown. Even before this nerf.

No it gives 300 and you get 20% condition damage reduction after 10 condition hits and only lasts 8 seconds, this gives 20% condition damage reduction permanently and takes 5 seconds for max stacks and then you usually have it for the rest of the fight unless you manage to not get hit for 5 seconds in a row.

Meh, I am pretty sure especially after the blighter’s boon nerf, hell maybe even before it Scrapper is considered to be better than Reaper.
AA nerf I can kinda see
HGH nerf is totally uncalled for though. I just don’t understand why they thought this was necessary.
I don’t really get HGH nerf either, maybe it was easy to burn someone to death super quick from stealth while having 25 stacks
how was hgh fine? 15-25 might stacks consistently is fine? under what pretext is one person stacking that kind of damage potential ever fine?
this was a negligible change, it’s a 25% duration nerf (hoelbrak alone makes up that difference) that literally will have so little impact it’s laughable. engineers are definitely the brats of gw2 that demand everything be handed to them on a silver platter and never be further touched or even looked at.
same thing goes for adaptive armor except it was an actual nerf that did something. get used to it. scrapper/alchemy isn’t balanced. the fact that something is now being done about it is a good sign for the game even if engineers kick and scream about losing their faceroll ability bit by bit.
a profession with as much protection uptime, blocks, evades, and passive defenses as engineer really shouldnt be complaining.
all types of boons are fine, because boons can be very easily removed, corrupted, stolen.

so you’re saying warrior should be nerfed next by your logic as they can instantly get 25 stacks of might as well as share it with allies with GS phalanx strenght
while also having ungodly pasive regen and condi clear

Perhaps they want Reapers to be able to stack might better than Scrapper but give Scrappers more access to things like Protection.

Just for those who…
The Dhuumfire thread
I wouldn’t mind the nerf to my main as much if they at least stopped teaming me with clueless ppl. At least with ranked, ppl had an understanding of what to do. I also don’t mind waiting a bit longer. I’d rather have a 7 min Q in a fair match than a 2 min Q for a mismatch.
EU Scrub
There are definitely strong viable options (not related to hammer) left, unless you want to include the old soldiers build into this meta, but my own personal opinion on hammer: I have hated its cleave and chase, but there are definitely viable builds to be found. (took me 40 mins of amulet+sigil procs to find it). It might be at a disgusting level if nobody crafts engi builds, but if it is the new meta it is certainly disturbing.
they are fine imo
I’m still only playing scrapper for PvP. anet need to fix warrior before I return to it.
currently a Boyfriend main :P
