So I’m just going to bring up this up again because I have something to add to it. I think most everyone has an idea of what I’m talking about. When opening the scoreboard while in a match (the default hotkey for this is b) for some people this causes a drop in framerate. Well, that’s more of an understatement, it actually freezes your screen.

So, I have 2 separate accounts I use because why not. Earlier this week I started having this problem with the scoreboard again on one of my accounts. On Friday, I moved home for the summer and as such have been using a different isp. The issue persists. Today, I try logging into my other account and discover that there is no drop in framerate when opening the scoreboard in a match. By the way, this is on the same computer. I log back into the account I was having the problem on, and it is still there.

Tl;dr (read this part)
So, I think we can come to this conclusion: it is not an issue derived from a bad graphics card/driver and it is not derived from a bad internet connection. It does happen on an individual basis to separate accounts. I don’t think it is a server side issue.

I do not know how information is stored so from here I’d just be grasping at straws if I tried to guess how to resolve it. I suppose something to look at is how information is pulled for each separate account for each part of the scoreboard (reward track, slot on the scoreboard, score displayed). I don’t know. All I hope is for this post to help point someone from Anet who is working on it in the right direction.

I think this might be connected to the similar issue when you join a queue and your game freezes. People have stated it is not tied to a bad graphic card/driver/connection and it’s also account specific.

This also happens to me, I have even had the game crash completely. I submitted an error report but that didn’t seem to go through (error report also crashed?).

As a note, I run a clean new hard drive (bought in march), fresh windows 8, NVIDIA video card. Interface lags out all the time, so I don’t think your system is to blame as long as the game runs well overall.

I also have 2 accounts, 1 with this issue and 1 without (to be fair, they’re on different regions though). The account with this issue is much older, and has around 10x the number of games as the one that doesn’t have this problem. Asked around guild a bit, and it seems that people who don’t PvP much don’t have this issue either. So my guess would be that it’s doing some sort of calculations involving match history lookups when you access the scoreboard, but I’m not really sure why it would be, or why that would cause a screen freeze unless it’s doing a ton of recursive calls and using up tons of CPU or something.

I read about this weeks (months?) ago, but it never happened to me. Then 2 weeks ago it started happening during a play session; that is, my OCD scoreboard checking was totally normal for several matches, then suddenly I was hit by the 2-3 second delay on each check. Hasn’t gone away since

I also have one account that is much older and has a few thousand more games played than the other. As it so happens, it is the newer account with the problem right now. However, I have been playing a lot more on the newer account lately so it could have something to do with having a large amount of games played in a short span of time (perhaps starting after a leaderboard reset).
