guardian god of wvw but useless in spvp?
Because even with all those reductions, guardians are still amazing in PvP.
Damage is far higher in WvW (120%+ crit damage). Having the same level of survivability against far less burst potential would be absurd.
As is, Guardian has always been a top tier class in tPvP, and there are almost no premades that play without one.

You probably played hot join. We suck major kitten there since people can’t take our skills and support into consideration. TPV kitten till good if the teams acknowledges your abilites as a guardian and make use of them.
Guardian is nowhere close to useless anywhere. Guardian must be one of the most balanced professions in the game, because they have a place everywhere.
SPvP, TPvP, WvW, PvE, as said, everywhere.
Actually Save Yourselves is OP in WvW. It should be nerfed to 50% just asin SPvP. This comes from someone who has invested 400h+ into a Guardian and runs a Pure of Voice + Soldier runes Guardian.

50%? Oh no no no no. It’s already 5 seconds in SPvP, nerfing it in WvWvW will not be any better since boons are our profession mechanic, more than what our virtues are.

Well with the recent confusion nerf in wvw bringing it to sPvP levels why stop there? Confusion mesmers feel kinda screwed when they see thieves running around with 120%crit chance/damage yet our best condition is hamstringed thanks to the whining of the zerg balls… please either revert the confusion nerf in WvW Anet or make everything that is separated between pve and pvp also apply to wvw not just confusion because right now that is the only thing that is different for wvw and pve (consumables aside)

I tell you what, if a skill is good at 50% efficiency ( many Guardians still run SY in SPvP ) how can it be balanced with double strenght? Sad to admit, but 10s of each boon minus stability + stunbreak + AoE condition cleanse (through runes and Pure of Voice ) on a 48s CD is a bit too much.
Don’t fret though, we’ll buff Hold the Line to compensate! Currently it gives 4s protection and 6s regeneration on a 35s cd. We could lower that to 30s!

Those guardians run SY for one reason… Condition removal… that is a lot of boons and it removes several of the conditions you just pulled to yourself… I could care less about the boon uptime on SY. I care more about what it does (heals+condi removal)

Guardian is not useless in PvP, but it is only able to fulfill one role and that is being a bunker.
It is better at bunkering and supporting than pretty much every other class, but that is the only thing it is good at. You’ll never see a roaming/ganking offensive guardian in tPvP, because another class would be superior at that.
In WvW though, you can create some pretty balanced builds that give decent burst dmg, that is not possible in sPvP.
With the new ranger bunker meta we might even see a decrease in guardians.
