As true as Odin’s spear flies,
There is nowhere to hide.
watching the qualifier i noticed two very odd things.
1. a thief with utility skills that are utterly useless(signet of initiative regen/blinding powder)save for shadowstep
2. a condi warrior using a longbow.
these people are potentially part of teams in the world finals.

1. Infil Sig is a stun break and shadowsteps to a target for it’s active and the passive is helpful. Blinding powder is a blast finisher and gives quick access to stealth.
2. Longbow gives good access to burns.
Do you even PvP bruh?

i do not, but i roam in wvw alot. i would have set my bars up very differently on a thief, and probably would have went s/s, s/t on the warrior. I was thinking that mobility was more important for the warrior but guess not.
Blinding powder and Infiltrators Signet are useless now. Oh my, tell me more about how to be a pro.
These are posts that remind me how ANet shouldn’t listen to all people on the forums. Some has no clue.
I always find blinding powder to be useful, and Infiltrator’s Signet is ok since it’s another gap closer and provides additional resources, but it’s CD is the only limiting factor in regards to stun break since BD is a better stun break overall. Blinding Powder is always decent as stated above and mostly depends on playstyle and build, being able to blast fields can always be useful, being able to stealth and blind without wasting Ini can be make or break in some encounters

Roaming in wvw=spvp since when….? Totally different metas and playstyles in totally different gamemodes. Go play spvp abit and get a clue how different it is from wvw roaming. Sure the skills from either of the gamemodes are very valuable in the other but the playstyles are very different and the objectives/goals are totally different.
Gotta love how someone who doesnt even pvp dares to trashtalk competitive teams

/yes
wvw =/= spvp

OP should change the question to,
“Why were these picked”?
Followed by,
“I’m not understanding the choices these two players made.”
That way you wont sound so ignorant, while learning something new about PvP in the process
