i use it some times and i see a lot rangers just standing and shooting on it mindlessly and i think they dont get enough damage back, does it really reflects the projectile damage back or is it just some fixed damage?

also retaliation, if i stand far away from a ranger where he deals most of his damage will the retaliation hit him stronger or is it fixed damage like if he was hitting me from close range?

Retaliation is fixed damage based on your Power. Reflections use the opponent’s stats, IIRC, but they can proc your traits and effects, such as Virtue of Justice.

I believe it’s quite possible for Sigil of Ice to trigger on a reflected attack.

Sigil of Force is one I don’t know on.

Retaliation deals a fixed amount of damage scaled with the Power (or condition damage if it’s a guardian with Radiant Retaliation) of the one who applied the retaliation.

For reflected projectiles, it all depends on the effects themselves. Effects are applied at certain times. Even between skills of the same type are differences on when something is applied.

For traits, as a rule of thumb, if the trait alters the skill’s description, the added effects will be added to the projectile, and be reflected.

But if the trait doesn’t it’ll will trigger when the condition is fulfilled.

For example:

  • Binding Jeopardy alters the skills description adding an invulnerability fact, so when Zealot’s Embrace is reflected, the invulnerability is also reflected.
  • Blind Exposure triggers when applying blindness, so when Ray of Judgment is reflected, the vulnerability isn’t reflected. But if you were to reflect a projectile that deals blindness while you have Blind Exposure, you’ll give the vulnerability, as the projectile has become yours, so you are the one dealing blind, and dealing blind is what triggers the trait.

With sigils, all I’ve tested so far work in the same way as traits that apply effect to the attack rather than the skill. And so their effects won’t be reflected, and they may trigger on reflected projectiles.
