how to play druid?!
As someone who has over 2,000 games on druid, many of which against pro players:
Your role as a Druid is to mainly take 1v1 fights and 2v2s on side points. It is the strongest 1v1 class in the game and the only class that can really beat you if you play well is warrior so you should take advantage of that by taking as many 1v1s as you can on neutral points/your points. I would not recommend taking a 1v1 on an enemy point unless you are running longbow because you can’t kill very quickly or even decap before someone could come in to +1 the fight and force you away.
If smaller fights are not possible to take, then you should go into the big teamfight. Don’t stand in the middle of the fight unless you have stability because you are extremely vulnerable to cc. In addition, almost all your support (and damage if you run longbow) is ranged so there is no real reason to take unnecessary damage unless you need to revive, which I would only do with stability up (and preferably signet of stone too) It is all about responding quickly to focus and providing support and dps when in big fights.
It is important to realise that Druid is not a pure support/bunker like ele was. It also has great single target dps and huge 1v1 potential so you shouldn’t just be looking for people to support if there is a decap/1v1 you can go for.
As for how to use each skill, you must remember to only use your signets if you are 100% sure you will die if you don’t. Their job is to save you from otherwise fatal situations, not just take a bit of damage away from you. I run the daze glyph over protect me because it is great for interrupting stomps and revives and has no cast time so you can use it when you are stomping/reviving. In addition, it is good for additional condi removal when in celestial form. Use your elite not for the might it gives but rather in a defensive way to make sure you don’t get your heals interrupted when low on health. If your are in a fight you are winning you can use it to finish off kills and for safe stomps though. Swap pets as much as you can to make sure they land their burst as much as possible and to give as much quickness to yourself as you can.
Hope this helped

You make alot of good point, but you also offer alot of bad advice.
The role of a druid is not a 1v1 fighter, especially not a sidenode holder. You might not lose alot of 1v1s as druid, but you put yourself at a disadvantage especially due to the potential of being locked away in a 1v1 that you cannot win. Yea you only really have a losing matchup vs warriors, but the only truly winning matchups are mes and powerguard (maybe rev). As a menders druid without any knockback, you will never kill other menders classes (druids/guards/eles/engis) and worse yet, you will lose the cap eventually if you defend it due to stealth management eventually biting you in the kitten . A menders guard is a much better side node 1v1 class than a druid imo. On top of that, even the winning matchups take quite a long time to finish as a druid.
So in actuality, I would suggest to focus on placing yourself in 2v2s and teamfights as much as possible and pick those 1v1s where you know you have an advantage.
Since this is based on soloq, the “classes you beat and dont beat” should be reevaluated for every game due to individual and unknown skill. 1 game you might beat the druid, another you might lose to the mes. so pick your fights accordingly.
Now if you do bring a knockback (most ideally in form of a bow), then this changes the capgame quite drastically. But be careful that you know what you give up.
Yeah, I’d focus mainly on team fights. 1v1ing is a good way to squander the powerful support that Druid can provide. But you have great mobility, and breaking off occasionally isn’t necessarily bad. Just don’t get it stuck in your head that a Druid’s role is to 1v1, cos that’s nonsense.
Some support related things to keep in mind:
-staff 5 + staff 3 is a potent AOE heal.
-Staff 4 not only roots foes, but also removes condis
-CA 4 is a potent AOE heal. (Try to use it w/ stability.)
-CA 2 is a situationally useful, light AOE heal, condi removal, and blind.
-CA 3 dazes and heals in a large AOE blast finisher. Use it often.
-CA 5’s AOE slow makes a bigger difference than it might seem.
-Leaving CA gives AOE stealth w/ trait, which is extremely useful for reviving, among other things. Timing it right with SnR can get a downed player up in seconds, with little or no damage taken from the stomp/cleave zerg.
-Your shouts give AOE swiftness.
-Staff 1 hits multiple targets and heals multiple allies if your positioning is right.
These are the main things I try to make use of when my team needs support more than dps.

A druid is only good support in a team fight if the other team ignores it. They are one of the easiest classes to focus down. There was a reason last season people used ele to carry teams with support vs. druid. Druid 1 and 2 avatar skills are virtually useless for support as it is gitchy just to activate the skill let alone hit another player that isn’t rooted. 3 is the best skill, 4 is ok if you have stability, and 5 is a good snare…if people ignore you.
The meta sword/dagger build is best as side/off node player where they can neutralize/cap a node before anyone gets there. Then, hold it that way for an extended period of time then escape if a +1 comes in. If they try to decap, they will take way too long to decap most classes except thief. Their rez utility is good in small 2v2 fights, but any multi player cleave will rek them.
As for the OP’s question, use your invisibilty, dodges, evades, snares, and mobility to avoid the Warrior so they can’t efficiently charge their adrenaline. You won’t last long against a good warrior if you try to face tank on a point. Their cc and damage are too strong.
That may be the case vs pro teams, but from Sapphire to Legendary this season, I very rarely experienced major difficulties in team fights except when my team was just ridiculously outmatched overall. But it’s true, a properly focused druid should go down relatively fast.
Druid res in team fights is ridiculously effective. Can’t tell you how many times I’ve revived 2-3 players back to back to turn the fight around. Obviously if the entire enemy team is going HAM on the cleave, and SnR is on cooldown, you’re out of luck. But if you’re quick on the res, you can often beat the cleave. With Allies’ Aid trait, druid res is FAST.
My engi gets 350k dmg average and 100k teammate healing and a lot of ally condis removed. That’s just with a little practice and noob allies.
My druid can heal for more, sometimes up to 300k, but outside of that i’m useless. I rarely go over 150k dmg, and my condi clear on allies isn’t amazing. my actual bunking is okay, but I can’t really kill enemies like warriors that I think I should be. What am I doing wrong?
Bowser, a friend of me, do 1 million damage or so a lot of time.
It’s all about always using your pet ability when they have a full stack of might.
This is about 75% of druid damage. So always renew ability after CD and make sure to buff that pet a lot.

Wow 1million damage in conquest on a bunker druid. Love to see a video of that. When I play zerker core ranger I can only get around 20 kills on 300k damage. He could literally just stand by the spawn and win the game on pure kills.
FACT: It’s not the druid. It’s the fact that ranger is one of the lowest DPS in the game. That’s all there is to it.
You can go core ranger for a more DPS traitline, nothing will change.

At least post a link to sPvP videos. In WvW anyone can farm people if they gear out.

Yes, lets ignore how he was able to stomp that first down with two others attempting to rez in that 1v3 and focus on how much he “outgeared them”.

It really should be ignored. Spvp is totally different to WvW: even posting a video of a vet player stomping noobs in hotjoin would be more useful than this video for studying how to play a druid in spvp.
