i'm bored and angry from spvp
Play with pugs. Add people to friends list who are decent then arrange groups via freinds list. Thats my advice.
As for random dudes. Matchmaking has solved this. I play with randoms all the time in paids and if they are bad then we play vs equally bad players so its fine.
I solo queue frees and the 4vs 5 problem has become problematic since now less people play frees because everyone realised how bad a 8 team tournament was compared to a quick 1v1 tourny. So the queues last longer and people dont unreg when they shut the client down and go to bed. This means you end up with 4 dudes vs 5 and its hard to win esp as all 4 man teams are just random solo queuers usually. .

I had difficulty reading your post, but I take it you don’t want to pug?
So, uhm… Don’t pug? =P

do you think that i never tryed? i have a lot of friends sometime you can make a team but happen too much that most of them is offline, someone is already in group etc etc and is hard do play good….
you talk about machmaking, but the numbers is not the truth, there is too many farmers that have high rank and alot of qualify point but they r noobs, and ppl that doesent have alot qp and rank but is good…
so everyday is the same story, 1-2 friend online and avalaible and then lf pug, or just join some pug team… i think that anet should be make something that need less ppl, like other game… i had played some games with 2vs2 3vs3 and is really funny and more easy to make groups…
if hotjoin and current free tourney system remain, i wont be playing spvp. it’s so full of fail. nobody cares enough to form an ELITE team to “practice”. let the hardcore players do that if they want but it shouldnt affect the majority of us. but this is not how u build a pvp community.
abolish hotjoin, 8v8 and free tourneys. we dont want that crap. it’s the worst pvp queue design ive ever seen.
this pvp does not favor casuals or HC player… there is NO reason atm to play tournaments or hj… it’s sad that this game had so much potential

i agree with you, i hope that anet will wake up quickly cause play in a game and getting bored is no sense, and make ppl quit the game and lf other game :/
There is a trade-off between making SPVP exciting for casual players and making it an esport. Arenanet are committed to the later, and therefore most GW2 players ignore SPVP. That’s why the SPVP player base is so small, and you can’t find team-mates. It is what it is.
pugs are not a solution…
ratings are not public and wont be public, rank doesnt mean much, how can you find players similiar to you? you just cant…

The e-sport thing won’t be happening. First of in order to have a e-sport you need to have:
1. A large player base (you need a more casual player friendly game to achieve this)
2. Enough game balance to have a lot more valid builds and counters to them (currently game balance is a joke)
3. Spectator mode (could be added later)
4. Proper rewards (ingame rewards e.g. Black Lion Keys to open chests, and money rewards for winning tournaments)
5. Good leaderboard system (built-into the game, past and current rankings and lots of statistics, ability to view recent top tournament matches)
Now all these things are missing.

I agree with most of that. Its baffling that Arenanet have ploughed on regardless.

most importantly, 6. accessibility. there is none currently. as a new player these are my options:
1. waste away in the clusterfuq that is 8v8
2. wait for frees to pop; then, more likely than not, get stomped
3. practice until im good enough to apply for a paids team (lol, this isnt supposed to be a job)
so basically, there wasnt a proper 5v5 queue on release. it’s beyond me how this could have been allowed to occur. anyway, as i keep repeating myself, until we get a proper 5v5 queue for the casuals (and abolish 8v8 altogether), spvp aint going anywhere. trust me.
Judging by the OP’s English he might not be on US servers and therefor probably not on AR, so he probably is finding absolutely awful people in HotM pugs.

Yep, this is exactly how I feel. As much as I enjoy playing, and as much as I would like to invest into finding others to play with, the options available arent friendly. God forbid your rank isnt high enough, or you dont have enough tourny wins, etc etc.
This shouldn’t be a chore or a job. There are casuals out there who would love to really sink their teeth into spvp but dont really bother atm because of the inaccessibilty to easily have others to play with (that are on their level) or the means to care. 10 ranks for new costumes and weapon skins!?! Why!?!

Exactly, and I would add the fact that there is no Europe vs North America. It was always fun to watch Europe vs NA games in GW1, as they would use different tactics and the games were really interesting.
I really hope that Anet fixes these things, otherwise the PvP in this game is absolutely doomed.
honsetly, i’m so tired of this crap…. I WANT TO ENJOY YOUR GAME ANET, BUT ALL YOUR STUPID DECISIONS MAKES ME WANT TO QUIT..
ughh….
should be nice have some reply from anet, i’d like to know what they think and what they will gonna do about that, so if they have other plan about that i can stop to wait (cause i’m waiting) and i can lf another game
