since the new patch, we have 3 stats amulets (3000 stat points total) and two 4 stats amulet (3220, 7.33% extra points) and one 7 stats amulet (3920, 30.67% extra) and since we cannot customize our stats as we wish, we might as well ask for more stats combinations?

anyway, what do you think of 5 stats amulet? could they work?

say if we refer their formula,
lets look at their points distribution,

00.00% – 3000 – 3 stats – 1200 900 900
07.33% – 3220 – 4 stats – 1050 1050 560 560
30.67% – 3920 – 7 stats – 560 560 560 560 560 560 560

so it appears that 1200 is the highest while 560 is the lowest.
and from 1200 to 1050 they subtracted 150

so if we try to replicate their formula for 5 stats amulet,
we might get …

how would you name them?
do you want 5 stats amulet?
do you think they can work?

i may want
900 power, 900 precision, 560 ferocity, 560 toughness, 560 vitality
i’ll call this legionnaire amulet maybe?

not sure if it will work or not, might not be able to do that much damage when compared against others but it does have some extra health and toughness though.

Honestly I’d rather they reintroduce jewels, then people will get a little bit more choice and customisation without them needing to have 30 different amulets.

and one called condibomb: Crit/condi/toughness/vitality/condi duration

Maybe players could have 3-5sliders that they can customize and choose exactly how much and what stats you want, that way meta builds would only be meta suggestions and players could modify stat outputs regarding their skills.

They should just give a new window with 3500 stat points and let us allocate them in sets of 100 with a max cap of 1200 and call it a day. Classes with extreme low hp or armor have little to no options depending on the build.

well if all the numbers are same, then it would not be equal, because 1200 and 560 is quite a big difference in number.

the 3 stats amulets have lower total number because they have much higher number in a single stat.

sliders, customization are good, but we will not be getting that, because it is too confusing for us, unfortunately.

lets ask for more amulets options and perhaps our request might be entertained one day.

That it’s the biggest load of kitten excuse ever (not blaming you, I know ANet said it). New players have to figure out stats from multiple items in PvE, which is where ANet forces them to start anyway. The most confusing thing for new players in PvP is finding the button that lets them change their PvP build. After that, it’s pretty simple to figure out. And frankly, that’s a lot simpler than scrolling through 50+ amulets.

That’s also a load of kitten.

If you keep the current stat combos (possibly even remove the 4-stat combos), but allow mix-and-match of them like in PvE/WvW, then there’s no direct increase in balancing difficulty. The only increase in balancing difficulty is that a lot more builds will be viable. That’s a good problem to have.

When you look at stats, the effect is very objective and quantifiable, unlike traits and utilities which are more subjective and harder to quantify. It’s easy to discern the impact stats will have. By keeping existing stat combinations, you also limit the extreme cases (all damage, all defense, etc). The current amulets are the extreme cases, so you’ll never see anything worse. Celestial is the exact middle of everything and acts as a balancing point for spreading out to many stats.

A prime example of where more stat customization would help and is desperately needed is bunker guardian. It’s base HP with cleric amulet is so low that’s it’s almost not viable; it can’t survive burst very well. If it was able to pick up additional vitality, it would do a lot better. In general, proper balancing of toughness and vitality stats for defense – instead of a mountain of one and none of the other – will do enough to curb rampant burst while not directly nerfing glass cannon builds.

main point of my proposed 5 stats amulet is that all of them have 900 power, toughness and vitality so they have some basic damage and some sustain from toughness plus vitality.

When the amulets would get split, this won´t be OP. It would just give diversity. Eve nwhen you select two splits that end up in + to all stats it won´t match cele and usually it won´t make sense.
Also 5 stat amulets won´t be a problem unless you create another bunker amu like 5 stats with 900 toughness and healing + 560 vit + power + condi …

yes i’m happy that celele no longer exists (hopefully) but the current choice of amulets are lacking, that’s why i am proposing 5 stats amulets.

eventually it will happen.

they removed pvp jewels for this reason alone.

5 stats amulet is still okay.
the 2 highest stats are only 900, not 1050 or 1200.
will do less damage overall when compared to 4 stats amulets or even 3 stats amulet.

it is like having 5 might boon less. since 1 might = 30 power. 900 and 1050 is like 150 power difference or 5 might boons.

Well an example for the split.
You mix rabid and carrion.

You get: 1200 condi , 450 power, 450 precision, 450 toughness, 450 vitality.
This would be less then the 4 stat amus and your 5 stat amus. I can´t see a problem in it. You give 3 stat and those splited. People create their 3-6 Stat mix.

Cele amulet is the reason ele is bad on other amulets. If you have an extra 700+ stats that you can utilize well, and you balance around that, that means the traits/skills can’t be good on amulets with way less stats.

Not really, poor balance is the reason ele is bad using other amulets. Cele amulet was the only thing that kept ele in meta. People need to stop blaming the amulet for everything.

Cele could have been ok, but they didn’t care about damage/condition/boons/cleansing.
The result were at first both elementalists and Engineers (GW2) and then druids and tempests (HoT).

I like the Hybrid idea as a jack of the trade, but with way less damage, both from condi and physica. Their idea was an Avatar.

The problem itself wasn’t the celestial amulet, but they choose try to fix it by removing it.

ps: don’t get my wrong, i’m happy celestial is gone, cause after over 1 year of celestial i gave up.

+1 on this. Not only does it just add in too many unnecessary options, but it also runs the risk of making something too much like celestial all over again.

I would also prefer splitting the amulet stats into 2 or 3 choices so we choose armor/weapon/amulet….

Now assuming ANET doesnt want to do the coding/work necessary for this then having 5 stat amulets would be better than nothing.

Saying it would be “too confusing” is an insult to the PvP player base. As mentioned above players already know how to customize stats since we have to do it in PVE and WvW anyway. Or is ANET insinuating that dedicated PvP players are dumber than PVE/WvW players?

no. the problem is not with the pvp amulets, but the profession itself.
7 stats celestial pvp amulet is fine and balanced.
ele who can abuse it is not balanced.

okay i think i got most reasonably balanced 5 stats pvp amulets combination up there.

4 stats is ok

3 main stats and 1 off stat, like expertise, concentration,ferocity ( so we will be far enough from another mass celestial user wave ).

No jewels.
