in team fight who do you focus first?
Eles (Since most of them are glass now)
Grenade engi
Power/Condi necro (Non-MM)
(If you are mesmer with moa, moa the MM then focus)
Sun Spirit, Nature Renewal Spirit
Revealed glass thief
Any other high risk high reward class once you discovered them
(edited by meichor.7809)
Condi Engi POV
1) Downed Bodies
2) Spirit of Nature’s Renewal if no enemy is sub 50%
3) Revealed Thief
4) DPS Ele, Mesmer, Engi, Necro, Guardian.
5) Whoever’s badly out of position, even if it’s a really beefy Ranger or Warrior.
6) Nuke the point, pressuring Guardian and others dumb enough to be on point.
99999999999999999999) Warrior using cooldowns.

kill the necro, so they dont screw your team later.
Mostly people who ask dangerous questions. Hit ’em hard with censoring, infractions, etc…, and you may come out unscathed.
That would typically be my focus order:
1. Necro
2. Engineer
3. Mesmer (?)
4. Thief (Shortbow, s/d s/p d/p)
5. Guardian (Staff bunker)
6. Warrior (bow, stances)
7. Ranger (spirits)
For ele it completely depends on the build: clerics staff is really tanky, full glass s/f would rank right with/after necro
I don’t focus a class first quite so much as I focus races.
I focus on the charr first, then the norn.
Human and sylvari comes after that, and lastly, the asura.
It is just easier to know when to attack against, defend against, and be able to target, the larger characters.
No matter how skilled or un-skilled they are, I always attack asura last. It is simply more fun fighting against something I can actually react to. Why fight something unfun?
a question: would it make sense, if large team, to entirely focus on guardian? ’caus often, if you down other profs, they might have downed mechanics which is hard to stomp, and guard keeps rezzing them.

If you are teamfighting against say, two warriors, guardian, ranger, I think it makes sense to kill the guardian first.

my question is rather about enemy with 1 guard and the rest of not so bunky damage dealers
Thief, necro, engi, ranger, thieves are always a threat. So is always good to iliminate them fast.

You mean like if you were fighting against a necro, engineer, guardian, warrior or something and the guardian keeps getting the res on them?
1. Necro
2. Ele/engi/mesmer/zerk warrior/d(s)p thief
3. Soldier warrior/Ranger/Guardian/Sd(p) thief
Mostly it depends on who tanked most aoe damage/used major cooldowns/bad positioning though.

yes, especially those classes which have stealth and while you try to stomp, guard (with stability himself) rezzes them.
Usual target order in tpvp (At least for me from bunker guardian’s pov in teamfight)
Nade Engi (Never never never let those guys spam your teamfight..seriously..NEVER)
Dps eles (Even more if they’re running staff, just wait for mistform on cd)
Power Necro (If they go in lich form burst them down asap or you’re kittened)
Shatter\Phantasm Mesmers (It’s a mesmer into spam meta, just kill him..)
Condition Necros (Because continous kitten-spamming on points is irritating)
s\p-d\p Thieves (Just don’t let them spam clusterbombs into the fight 24\7)
Spirit Ranger (Mainly because he can rez ppl up if you can’t cc the spirit)
Meanwhile keep an eye on bunker guardian and once he has pretty much everything on cd bring him down fast, same goes for warriors..just wait for them using all stances first.
On the other hand worst targets usually are
s\d Thieves (Just stop wasting stuff on his evades, probably worst target ever)
MM Necros (Minions are gonna die from aoe ayway, just focus more important stuff)
Any sort of bunker engi, decapper included (They could be even longer than a guardian to bring down)
Condition\Banner Wars (Same as bunker engis, just rupt rez banner, there are way more important and easier targets)
PU Mesmers (Not even worth wasting a single skill on them, you can cap a point just standing there doing nothing while he’s waiting for you to kill his clones, yeah…don’t think so. Probably most useless tpvp spec ever, best way to counter PU mesmers is to just ignore them, they won’t do kitten anyway)
This is a general rule but may change based on single player skills…if there’s someone really good around and his mates suck it’s always a good choice to focus the better one down first..

Thief PoV:
if (thief)
kill();
else
decap();
1) Ele
2) Everything else
Only one answer to the question…. whoever has the lowest health.
Only one answer to the question…. whoever has the lowest health.
Not really, a bunker can still go back from 25% hp to full being hard to kill while a dps spec could drop 100-0 in seconds if focused…a low hp guardian\bunker engi or war is still way more though than a full hp glass cannon…killing bunkers it’s not a matter of “how much hp they have left” it’s all about “what they have on cd”
…from a bunker guardian..

Assuming every class is playing their FotM build.
1. Elementalist (assuming an AoE heavy DPS build). If not they will flatten your team in seconds.
2. Necro – because they are a reliable target and actually die eventually. No dodging or immunity crap.
3. Engineer
4. Any DPS support like Thief or Mesmer – They are hard to pin down but focus fire + CC kills them quickly.
5. Spirit Ranger
6. Warrior (assuming Hambow)
7. Bunker Guardian.
1) Ele/Thief/ Mesmer
2) Necro
3) Engi/ Ranger/Warrior
4) Guardian.
looks like trend is to focus starting from squishy dps, leaving bunky build for later
I do not think separating by classes is the best way for targeting, you kind of have to get a feel for what their builds are (Tanky, DPS, Support, or balanced)
I go for
1.) Support
2.) DPS
3.) Balanced (Tanky DPS or condition DPS normally)
4.) Tanky
Problem you may notice with this is Condition Damage types and tanky chars (Often Condition DMG) get saved for last and have time to build up their Condition dmg. Still outnumbers or even this is the order I stick to.

Oh course as a burst zerker mesmer with a GS I normally burst down whoever the F comes in range first lol. I guess this is a list more for when I am the rare 4v4 or 5v5 that happens in middle of map 1-3 times a game. Normally I am capping solo the farthest CP.
In soloq, I just look for lowlifers, or try to turn a 1v1 that my teammate should not be fighting in to a 2v1
In teamq, just figure out who is not the bunker and focus them, then cleave when the bunker tries to rez them
looks like trend is to focus starting from squishy dps, leaving bunky build for later
Mostly because there are ways around the concerns of reviving downed state that you have. For the most part, it just takes paying attention to get the counters off.

ok, ill try to follow the trend. i guess that means poison, knock backs, cleave and stability stomp. i believe i’ve seen some fake stomping too, not sure about that one yet.
