Guild Wars 2

My team was winning, but suddenly my char could not move at all. I got locked in the same place and could not help my team. It was not lag or anything similar since I could see all the fights around me and the moves. After the match was over and I went to pvp hall, I could move normally.
Anyone else experinced similar bug?

Happened to me too, I could move in roughly 5s after smashing all of my keyboard buttons.

That happens to me to often – no movement impairing conditions – just stops in place; I use “/sit” to be able to move again. I can do anything else but move. I have asked others in matches, no one seems to know what it is either.

It is not the 1st time it happens to me, but in this match I could not move for like 3 min no matter what I do: /sit, /dance, dodge, use movement skills, teleport, etc.
Unfortunatelly, my team lost the match because of this bug (we were winning by more than 100 points)…

Has happend to me alot as well,I usually just smash a combination of WASD and mouse click like a maniac and it usually fixed it lol. No idea why it happens though.

I’ve had this happen when I was knocked into a wall. The /sit /dance routine didn’t work. Had to wait to die and respawn which sucked

This is happening to me quite frequently. It’s a pretty sick feeling to be standing there locked in place unable to move.

But, I didn’t know sitting or dancing would fix it. So, thanks guys. Now I know what to do when it continues to happen to me over and over and over.

Maybe if post this in the bug section anet will fix it…. Or more likely they will ignore it like every bug posted there since launch…

Had it happen to me on thief and emotes wouldn’t fix it… I used my shortbow #5 multiple times and it wouldn’t fix…

I eventually broke down and just reloged as the issue couldn’t be resolved any other way

It’s been known and reported for years… This is nothing new…

Really? I’ve only experienced the bug recently, even after playing PvP for over a year.

What i have noticed is this bug usually happens to me after Taunt. Especially often against Druid’s pet taunt.

I’ve been PvP’ing off and on since 2013… I can’t remember a time this wouldn’t happen…

I’ve had this happen to me multiple times in pvp matches over the years, it’s gotten worse as of late. I completely forgot emoting would fix it.

Happening this entire season. No clue why they can’t fix it. I think rev and druid are causing it.

I have experienced it as well, druids seem to cause it as well. I think it might be caused by being immbolised while being counted in midair or something. Blinks didn’t remove it but movement abilities did.

Rangers and revenants seem to be primary cause, so it could well be related to taunt as the underlying issue

There’s two different bugs being reported here. The bug which is fixed with dance or sit. And a bug where you are stuck in terrain so sit and dance don’t work. The later should be reported and hopefully they fix the terrain tho I wouldn’t get to excited.

I get this like every 2nd match, it’s really annoying. Just type /dance and you can move again… for whatever reason. :P

This is correct. The old PvP favourite, the so-called ”stuck bug” is fairly frequent. Hardly a night goes by without having to emote out of it at least once.

The other bug is a terrain collision issue and luckily it is much rarer. It is also more severe, and the only fix is to either die & respawn, or log out to the character select screen and zone into the map again. Emoting won’t do a thing to fix it. I’ve PvPed since launch and I have only experienced the latter bug a handful of times (<10). It’s always triggered by some form of CC which f’s up collision for your toon. Ranger longbow knockback used to be a big offender back in the day.

Both bugs have been present since launch and reported about a million times by the community. They are both latency related and if Anet could fix them, they would have been handled already. Don’t expect a fix for either.
