talk of meta makes somewhat less sense recently. what is meta now? ppls still talk of condi meta, but feels like that train is long gone. there are couple of op builds, or rather op skills (healing signet), but meta?

and should the game necessarily have a meta? isn’t it’s absence a sign of diverse build environment?

The influx of new players makes it seem like there is no meta because they all run glass power builds.

Top end hasn’t really changed though; they’ll learn eventually

The meta right now in higher end teams is: Bunker Guardian, Spirit Ranger, Warrior, Thief, X. It’s meta because it’s just an assortment of the most powerful specs in the game, and has a good combination of map control and bunkeryness to both decap and hold points.

Right now, the meta is sort of built around the Warrior — people either play a Warrior, or something that has a good chance at 1v1ing a Warrior (like Thief) or gives support for fighting Warriors (like Guardian) because of how powerful the meta spec is.

lol could you imagine the QQ if that happened? ending up playing a pistol engi with soldier runes and no kits on your utility bar.

that could be a good game mode. especially if assignment is of entire random build (not individual skills). and with some appropriation so that both sides have glassy/bunky combo. would earn you multiclass leaderboard. and save game from #1 auto-heroes.

in sc2 ppl play under random race.
