nerf burn guards pls
Burn dragonhunter is pretty much the worst guardian build available in PvP right now.
Why would such a bad build need a nerf?
Sounds more like a learn 2 play issue to me.
First of all, the pull is not unblockable or unavoidable. Assuming you’re talking about the Spear of Justice, you can simply block or avoid it the moment it’s being thrown at you.
They can’t drop their traps twice on a point, that’s just wrong. What they can do however, is put down new traps the moment you trigger the old ones (assuming the traps are off cooldown).
The 12 stacks of burning are only achieved if you allow the guardian to put every single supply of burning he has available on you. Why do you even let him get to that point? Why don’t you use a condi-cleanse after he put his strongest burns on you?
And have you even considered that Pain Absorption can be cast BEFORE the guardian puts ALL his burn stacks on you? No? Maybe you should try that next time.

I agree that i´s dangerous if you are careless (i´s human to make mistakes. I sometiems go down because am distracted not paying attentin on the condi bar for a few seconds ..), but basically i can facetank a burn guard with ele (soldier rune shout build is key)…. and he actually dies … (but that might be becasue i use sage).

By the time Pain Absorption is being casted, burn guards can put 12 stacks of burning on you, Judge’s intervention ALONE can do 30% of someones HP, Burn guard is also one of the top builds in ranked currently, and certainly is not the worst or even close lol.Top 200 isn’t really a huge accomplishment. You won 33 matches and lost 19. That’s nothing to brag about. How about you play some more in ranked before you go complaining about certain builds? One sacrifices defense which turns the burn dragonhunter into a paper cannon, the other sacrifices offense which seems rather pointless because why would you sacrifice direct offensive capabilities for the sake of something so unreliable as 1 single condi?

Because no other class has offense AND defense, like macebow, bunker ranger, hammer scrapper, mender ele, spectral reapers, …. seriously.
I mean macebow is almost equally as broken, warrior has too much sustain especially with running power runes and zerker amulet, bunker rangers damage is pathetic, hammer scrappers damage is fair, its not OP at all. mender eles do dps??? Im missing ur point m8.
DH and daredevil are omipresent. Just play something that counters both hard ^^.

mender runes had power and prec, the only thing that prevent mender eles doing damage is presure, they had to be sticky in defensive rotation, but if one can freecast for a feew seconds they can do dps
the main source of damage for bunker druids is the pet,,, and surprise the pet does the same damage on bunkers builds that in power builds

mender runes had power and prec, the only thing that prevent mender eles doing damage is presure, they had to be sticky in defensive rotation, but if one can freecast for a feew seconds they can do dps

D\D ele power with sigils does more dps then menders bunker ele lol, eles do not have ridiculous amounts of damage while still being tanky, they have to pick one or the other, which DH does not if chosen to. And yeah, their pet dps is the only real damage they have, and a turtle shooting spikes at you for 10 seconds is pretty easy to avoid, if that pet was a burn guardian, you would have 5 stacks of burns on the first hit that would quickily tick on you for over 3k damage per burn.
I can understand complaining about a full trapper guardian in low rank pvp but a burn guard. Well, not even burn guard. Burn dh????

I would rather like to look at druids and their unproportional dps to sustain output.
I think that the issue with burn guardians is that they work very well as a planned pair.
I ran into a pair of them a while back, queued up together and they shared a build that allowed them to slap massive amounts of burning down, instantly, on a called target. It was enough to kill me instantly and I`m a hefty, tanky necro that is used to surviving heavy focus. I died in about a second and a half.
Fortunately, I had the shout that shunts conditions onto enemies and I started watching for the burn stacks and immediately using it to give them right back. Sure enough, they started dropping instantly and I didn’t. However, that shout wasn’t available all the time and had I not had it, I would have been helpless.
Do I feel it needs nerfing? No. It is highly effective, but there are counters and counterplay to it. Its like a heavy rifle warrior or pistol thief, it gives up a fair bit and once you see it in action, its possible to act against it to the point where it becomes a liability to the user. Its also interesting in that it encourages teamplay and a team build, which should be fairly rewarded.

I find it hard to believe that the guardian melted from their own burns, they have tons of condi cleanses, and one of their main sources of burning is from Purging Flames and that also cleanses condis on themselves. Though that story could be from unranked\ low mmr and at that point it doesn’t matter because people dont know how to play anyways.

Basically, they didn’t see it coming and the amount of burn damage was so high that they couldn’t react to it. It was 16 plus stacks of instant burning and the tick was truly staggering.

I don’t know what to tell you, man. I mean, yea, a burn dh has more sustain than a burn guard, but i’m honestly not sure that increase in sustain is worth the loss in spike condi damage. I think if you’re gonna go dh, you might as well go medi trapper or symbol. If you’re gonna go condi, radiance, virtues and valor is way better. Due to the limited amount of condi a burn guard can apply, it makes more sense to spike your target as fast as possible before they cleanse to get as much damage in, so i think a condi guard is better than a condi dh in that regard.
I mean, i guess i can empathize with you? Last night i got wrecked by a burn guard in unranked while playing menders druid, but what more could i expect with only 2 condi cleanses? Signet of renewal and astral form are great for getting rid of a lot of condis at once, but it’s kind of a waste to use it on a single burn stack that’s killing you fast but a burn guard will just reapply in a few seconds anyway. So it’s gg me. Had i been playing an ele, necro, warrior or dh, i would have had that guardian for breakfast, so i pressume you’re playing something that lacks condi cleanses?

Burn guardians are the least tanky lol.
Both meditrapper and symbolic have more heals, more condi cleanse and more CC.
Especially a symbolic dragonhunter with a Mender’s amulet is an absolute bunker who will tank for days.
Seriously, in a world were we have to deal with the OP silliness known as the condi/burn berserker, you are complaining about burn dragonhunters… Seriously…

build is absolutely disgusting, not only do guardians have an unblockable unavoidable pull and can drop their traps twice on a point, but can put 12 stack of burning on you can will take you to 30% hp before my Pain Absorption is even done being cast.
I don’t think anyone agrees with you on this. Regardless of your ranking, I think it’s time you put some thought into learning what you can do to counter them as a mallyx rev or perhaps expanding your profession options.
The thing is, he seems to know what professions he can use to counter burn guards, but he just seems to be mad because he would rather play rev and doesn’t want to switch.
Yeah I don’t want to switch from thief. Definitely nerf DHs.
burn guard is the only condi build that works proper, in my pov, heavy presion in one condi that can be cleared whith any condiclear not condibombing a kittenload of condis that only can be cleared whith heavy condiclears that are rares in all classes
You can do up to 27 stacks of burning on burn guard, kinda useless against a team with condi removal though, which is any competent team/player.
The only burn build I can use against competent enemies involves block spamming at 2 burns per block but even then it’s boring as kitten killing people just by block spamming…
I think the real question is: Why was Ele Ring Of Fire nerfed due to people complaining about 3 stacks of burn every time they ran over it without looking while Purging Flames that can be dropped on someones head remained untouched, at least with Ring Of Fire you had to get close enough to drop it on them.

May i politely ask, why people suddenly bring up Thief into a Guardian and Burn discussion? Did the game lack option cleansing and applying Burn condition whatever class/profession you use?
Between a master and apprentice, i would love to see the differences.
How does one permanently prevent extra burning stacks being added when tethered by spear of justice ? (other then running away, invulns or resistance) The other strong burning attacks (apply and forget)can be dealt with a simple cleans but this one seems to not have such a counter (extra stacks over time).

Burn guard might counter a few classes in 1v1 such as Druid but much more than that it can’t bring to the table.
Burn guards are OP as hell there everywhere now i have so little chance to clear 12+ burns burn of even transfer the condi on, even if i manage to do so they will just place then straight back kill me instantly impossible to fight when your get focus so hard as i all ready do be a necro adding a Burn guard into the mix is kittening wrong .

equip more condi clears.
every class had ways to deal with only one condi, burn guardian plays with only a condi, if you paly necro and only rely the condi counter in the auto transfer trait, your fault, get more condiclears
burn guard relyes on apliing only one condi, yes they had capability to constant presure with it, but its only one and every condi clear skill and her mother can clear one condi, the thing that makes they seem op is that you see guardians on enemy teams and you mentalize and adapt your build to play around traps and LB guardians and… surprise, they burn and you have sacrified your condi counter to get other skills to counter meditrapers, people crying to ad more build diversity and in the moment that a class had more than one possible builds, they get OP cuz you can predict the tipe you will find and prepare to counter them….
If you are dying to a burn guard as a necro then you are playing necro wrong.

spear of justice? what? this is about burn guardian and spear of justice is the last resource for burn guardians putting spear of justice on CD means you lose the ability to aply burn every 5 atacks(3 if traited) and your only pressure resource

I don’t blame a necro for losing to a burn guard. Meta necros are geared towards corruptions more so than condi transfers. Yea a necro could equip every condo transfer skill in their tool set and kill a burn guard easily, but then your necro isnt as good as what he’s supposed to do: corrupt boons. As a meta condi necro you have about 2 condi transfers in staff and plague signet and one condi clear on heal skill. That really isn’t enough to handle the amount of burn a guard can repeatedly place on you. The burn guard meanwhile, when you transfer hos burns back to him has: f2, purging flames, smite condition or contemplation of purity, smite on heal, and focus 4 if they take it over torch.

nah, it’s still in the burn guard’s favor. Do note i am not saying burn guard is op or broken. It’s below medi trapper and symbolic. What i am saying is that i don’t blame a necro for having trouble with a burn guard any more than i could be mad at an engi, druid or thf for losing that fight.
Look, most of burn guard’s pressure comes from Zealot’s Flame. That is a big blue fireball they throw at you that is insanely easy to dodge, and before they can throw it they are covered in blue flames, so you know that kitten is coming. Furthermore, they can only do this while using torch. So if you see a Guardian with a torch out, be ready, especially if he just went up in blue flames.
The burn guard also applies burning and cleanses conditions when he blocks. STOP HITTING HIM WHEN HE’S BLOCKING! I mean seriously, what are you hoping to accomplish there?
Lastly he will also apply burning from the passive F1, a couple of utility skills, and his heal thanks to Balthazar runes. These are minor burns meant to add to a burst or bait out your cleanses.
- If you keep attacking the guard while he is blocking, you will lose.
- If you bring little to no condi cleanse, you will lose.
- If you are panicking and wasting condi cleanses on every little stack of burning he puts on you, you will lose.
If you calm down and think about what you are doing though, you can win pretty easily. I myself run a full shout druid with soldier/trooper runes or whatever they’re called in pvp. They cleanse 1 condi aoe. Guardians apply a single deadly condi. It is insanely easy for me to counter them.
Just think about it, you know they are going to try to cast Zealot’s Flame, port to you with Judge’s Intervention, and then weapon swap to proc cover conditions from sigils. That is their big burst, cleanse it or avoid it. Then guess what, they no longer have torch out because they weapon swapped. Know what that means, they’re probably going to throw some blocks up until they swap back to their torch. Either use unblockable attacks or stop attacking. This build also works best in melee and is incredibly easy to kite.
Just learn how they work and what to avoid and when to cleanse before rushing to the forums demanding that a gimmicky build be nerfed.
