nerf reapers
Reapers (and Necros in general) really can’t do much to not take damage. Only thing I can think of is that you’re a Longbow Ranger trying to pew pew into a Corrosive Poison Cloud. Even that only lasts for 8 seconds, though.
Maybe he means death shroud?

I mean, Reapers could need some nerfs, but definitely not because they aren’t taking damage.

No you don’t, the smart ones will just wait out for berseker stance
If the necro use Corrosive Poison Cloud is possible that your projectiles can’t reach him why that skill destroys projectiles.
Or there can be the situation that a Chronomancer use the well to give blur to the team (twyce with the F5), making not only the necro but all the team untouchable. Added to the CPC it can give you 15 sec of “invulnerability”, but only if you use projectiles, like the ranger with LB.
Out of the CPC or the teleport of the Flesh Wurn the necromancer have not defensive skills to “evade” attacks, only a bad back-teleport on spectral walk or protection on spectral armor.
If you was unable to deal damage to him can only be why the Corrosive poison Cloud (and you’re using projectiles all the time, with weapons like a LB, granades, pistol,,,,) or why they had one or more chronomancer that buffed he with Blur.
Or he was hacking. Sometimes happen.

Yeah, but it does not mean Mallyx Revenants need a buff. It’s the condition part of Necromancers and Reapers that need to be looked at. I am looking at the scepter that was recently buffed for instance. Scepter means conditions sent without a projectile or clear animations I must say. Not many classes can manage those conditions. And, I am all for changing Diamond Skin to something more interesting.
Wow, seriously? Reaper?
Only elites I’d say that AREN’T blatantly stronger than the reaper are daredevil (which can totally beat reaper 1v1) and any kind of warrior.
Scrapper, Dragon hunter, Druid, Tempest, Chronomancer…all of these are waaaay more difficult to deal with than Reaper.

A necromancer saying that…reaper is weak?….well that’s a surprise :-)
There is a semi-invulni panic button for the reaper – spectral armor. A smart reaper will pop that right before shroud to gethimself some solid survivability uptime. If his overall defense is strong and enemy’s burst comes in multiple hits rather then one big one it may ineed seem reaper pushed 0 damage button. Well except he didn’t and it won’t work well against condi spam.
Reaper is by default to be durable and not that easy to kill. In good hands that’s what it is, but it’s by no means a cheapshot like let’s say diamond skin bunker tempest or mesmer with blur and distortion spam.
As for the warrior he’s more likely referring to rampage, the elite vs necros, unless the necro has plague as his (blind spam). And yeah, rampage eats necro even the reaper, unless he’s properly geared and very coolheaded (corrupt his stability at it’s start, then chain fears before next one kicks in).
Out of all the elites, I’d say Reaper is one of the most balanced.
No damage for 15 seconds? What on Earth are you talking about?
Warriors hard counter necro/reapers. That’s pvp 101.
In the past there have been “pro” level pvpers who were ignorant about basic class mechanics.
necros and warriors cannot exist symbiotically.
When there were more warriors used (hambow and shoutbow reign) necros struggled to thrive in higher tier game play.
Then June patch came that significantly nerfed the warrior and buffed the necro. We saw a rise in cele signet necro builds and warriors’ traits got royally kittend up.
Necros, although still not very popular at least have presence in the competitive landscape. People now choose this class. If warriors get the buff they need, you will see a big decline in necromancer representation.

Shroud disables the LF gain from spectral armor, which means popping it going into shroud just gives the reaper the prot buff for the first ~6 seconds of shroud. That’s not even remotely a semi-invuln.
All reapers are defensively is a giant HP sponge. Shroud is essentially a second health bar, albeit one that heals itself via LF gain rather than standard heals.

Uhhm, tell that to the Thief that have fun of me…
Out of RS, he was all over me, in RS he just start kiting me until I am out of RS, then he was all over me again, and deliver the my backpiece to my hands.
I would say L2P.

Just because scepter applies conditions doesn’t mean the enemy needs to have a clear for every single one. Scepter #3 is the only major threat on scepter as the other two just apply moderate amounts of bleeding which is by far the weakest condi in the game.
I don’t know about you but I rarely if ever bother wasting a condi clear on bleed.

Then you must run into some really really really really bad reapers at your MMR.
This more or less i a normal day in ranked. mostly necro/reapers. ppl prefer them cause they are durable and deals a lot of dmg.

A DH complaining about reapers?
Do you not realize how absolutely brutal DH are to reapers since reapers lack the evades and blocks to handle traps and True Shot?
Besides seeing lots of necros in a match is meaningless.. Necros have always been popular even when they where weak.

I’m not complaining, I’m just stating the obvious, that ppl prefer necro’s.

Well you are wrong though. Shoud doesnt remove the SA buff and you get the lf from the buff even in shroud. And before anyone says that shroud not removing the SA buff is a bug, sorry to disappoint you, it is working as intended. Just look it up in old balance change notes (sorry i am currently too lazy to cite it properly). So dont take the in correct tooltip too seriously.
I think the CC spam shout Maurader/Soldier warriors are a fair counter to the condi necro, CC against the necro has always been a bane since we have long cd/cast times.
But other than that, warrior brings nothing to the table which is why they’re under represented right now. They can’t keep up with the sustain and bring support to teamfights.

I just tried and Spectral Armor actually give LF also when in Shroud.
I think it’s a bug, nothing more. ANet will fix it quickly. (we’re not supposed to have a defensive skill, for ANet Devs XD)

Just realised the wiki page has the link to the patch notes (here see below: http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Spectral_Armor).

And most everyone else in this thread.
I’m saying Reaper because, even though I play one, they are my easiest targets. I always go for other reapers first.
Other classes are just way too hard to kill. Escapes, invulns, blocks, immunities to CC constantly, and druids and DS eles have enough regen to make your head spin.

Bolded section is false—SA works in shroud and is a great way to secure near-invuln to power damage for the first 6 seconds of shroud.

Alright I tested it myself, I was wrong. (seriously Anet, incorrect tooltips)
It’s still not a invuln. LF gain is healing, which is a reactive defense. Invulns are proactive.
