new pvp dailies time consuming
It’s okay. It’s for people that play mostly sPvP only and not for PvE guys that only want to do the PvP dailies because they are faster. That’s why they probably wanted to make them take more time.
dailies overall are way too time consuming
they just want to make us grind so it looks like someone actually plays this game
bring back old dailies they took reasonable amount of effort and you did not need to spend too much time for them.

it only takes one more match…it’s easy to get 10 captures and 20 kills in 4 matches, honestly :|

yes, i liked the old dailies much better too
now I have to spend about 3h or so daily to get all the daily achievement points from pve and pvp

Investment of time is not a good comparison as in PvE dailies you spend that time with braindead easy content to get your daily laurel, while in PvP you have to be active and alert to finish your dailies. And the PvE dailies still reward you better as 4500 karma>>>glory booster.
It was a bad decision to increase the daily PvP grind. The old achievements gave me a reason to log in daily. Now it just doesn’t seem worth the trouble anymore.

it’s less time consuming if you play hotjoins, since no one care about capping one point by more than one person. In tPvP it’s mindless. And if I can’t get my team ready, it’s most likely i won’t win, because solo queue is broken, as it was before. It’s a matter of luck (getting good players in your team) than it’s a matter of skill. Why make daily luck dependent?!
It’s ok, they removed laurels and increased the amount of objectives. To balance stuff you know..err..yea.
How is it possible there is no statement yet on the missing Laurels? Bug or intentional…please let us know.

I have about 1 hour to play GW each day, there is no way I can do PvP dailies anymore…
Win requirements must go, if they want 2 tournament games ok, but 2 wins. NONONO
And why remove Laurels?
Laurels are back on, its been fixed!
I think the time requirement is key. You can complete pve dailies at a good pace usually, though it might require waypointing. The PvP daily always has matches or wins though, and those you really can’t speed up too much. But if you only have an hour or two to play, you probably aren’t able to do both dailies now. And even then, spending 2 hours of playing just to get a glory booster and some glory…no thanks. Pretty sure arenanet runs stats so maybe in a month they see spvp unique logins drop a bit and reconsider.
The absolute problem about this new kitten daily is the win : it doesn’t rely on you. In addition to needing at least 5 matches, you may spend 2 hours and not get and because of a newbies team or afk etc… I’m doing them this week thanks to holidays but somedays with class, sports and other stuff i play only 2-3h, how am I supposed to to both dailies, especially with Mists Defense Restorer where there’s nothing to repair…
The solution would be weeklies, because ill know somedays I won’t do what I want to in the game to keep my position in the achievement leaderboard
The daily yesterday took about 30-45 minutes. Join in the middle of a map twice and play through the following map. Got both the kills and the captures after a little over two maps. It definitely is an increase in time requirements, but not so much.
What I would like to see is the removal of the 4 unique maps daily and go back to only requiring 4 different achievements for the daily. This way you could finish your daily in as little as 2 tournament matches if you win or any 4 maps if you hot join or have a losing streak in tourneys.
Dailies are supposed to be grindy. This is a grindy game. Do you expect to be rewarded just because you log in and do fun activities with your friends? What the kitten game do you think this is, GW2?
I agree with the sentiment here; I have under 90 minutes to play each day.
Previously, I would just “naturally” get the PvP daily through the course of normal play.
Now, I have to split my time between both Tournaments and Hotjoins, pay attention to what maps are rotated to, etc.
This means that most days, I probably won’t earn the daily, which in turn means one less reward to log in for.
If you’re doing hot-join, the daily should only take 33% longer than it did before. Honestly, I think that’s fine given how long on average it takes to do the PvE daily.
The main problem I have with the PvP daily is that it promotes bad playstyles. That’s also a reason why it’s hard to complete in tournaments. In particular, the “Nodes Captured” objective means multiple people sit on a point until it caps in order to get credit, especially at the start of a game, instead of moving to other parts of the map to be useful.
I would add the following that focus on better playstyles:
- Teammate revivals
- Nodes neutralized
- Nodes defended

I agree. I’m not too fond of the 20 kills requirement, either. I just play hotjoin and regularly solo engage groups of enemies knowing I’ll probably not get any kills and may likely die, just to neutralize an objective or stall them. Other times I’ll avoid combat just to get an easy cap. Last night I found myself making decisions that were not in the best interest of my team just so I could get my kills as quickly as possible since I’d already completed all the other requirements for the daily.
I agree with OP. Dailies are supposed to let you play how you want and get rewards. Fun! New spvp dailies are grindy and make me focus on “oh I need 2 more kills” rather than playing the game in the best way possible to win (same problem with things like keg brawl daily). +1 to Exedore
With the new daily you cannot just stick to tpvp – no unique maps – plus getting kills and captures are much harder especially if you like to play something like bunker. It feels like you’re just trying to fill up people’s time in lieu of no new content (which I suppose is dailies anyway, but at least pve gets me back into random zones).
