Does anyone know the exact amount of seasons we have left to earn the legendary backpiece? I did a quick search and found that most people say four seasons in total (so two left now) and I believe those numbers to be correct as well. But now that on reddit someone has datamined the pvp prestige rank titles for reaching legendary per season, it also shows a fifth and sixth season. Hence my confusion.

I was thinking about getting the pvp backpiece but I didn’t participate in season 1 and 2. I’m not that good at pvp so I won’t reach legendaryfor sure, so I want to know if its still attainable for me. If there are four more seasons it might be…

Does anyone have an official answer from Anet, or could some employee shed some light on this? Thank you.

I guess that season 3 (which starts today) and season 4. Each season last ~2 months and after each one is a month of rest, which means 4 seasons x year.

It’s probably still worth doing what you can. I linked a post at the end. If you go to second page of replies there’s a Dev post. The next paragraph is quoted from what he wrote.

“If you can’t/don’t get the legendary if a specific year then there will be another way to obtain that specific backpack. I can’t go into any details on that, but you WILL be able to get previous years backpacks in some way.”

This next statement is my opinion/theory: So assuming that this other method actually gets implemented. Logic would dictate that it would piggyback off the original rewards.
