please remove rank from spectator mode
still, i think removing rank information in spectator should not be that hard.
obviously, they do not want us to know the rank information, since they removed it from the end match public scoreboard.
i think, it would be a first step in making hotjoin slightly better.
for casual players like me who only play 3 hotjoin games per day would benefit from it i guess. i would not stay in a room longer than 3 games anyway. by the time i memorize which players are good, i would had my fill of 3 games and its time to log off.
if i may: the main issue here is with players deliberately joining the r80 in the other team, to create 2v1/3v2/4v3/5v4 situations to win the game, no?
so why do you want to remove the ranks?
do not remove ranks, they don’t matter, they’re a nice gimmick for hotjoin players. they don’t matter in sQ and they don’t matter in tpvp.
It’s the ability for players to be able to switch teams in the middle of the game. just remove the teamswitch and assign players randomly at the beginning of the match. apply dishonorable for reconnects for teamswitch, problem solved. plus, disable reward track/rank progression in hotjoin, so there’s no need to switch teams.

The toxicity level in this thread exceeds beyond sheer meanness. Seriously people, the point was brought up and acknowledged, why some desire to ridicule the developers and develop such a toxic environment then wonder why they don’t respond to threads…….really……….
smack..Wut?…smack…smack…
Good posts, but you don’t put forward any ideas of your own on how to fix the fundamental issues surrounding hotjoin. I won’t repeat my ideas here as I agreed with others who you disagreed with on the other thread via my own posts there, so I know what your reply will be.
Did you actually read my posts (and the thread) from the start? Or did you get the impression that I must be some out-of-touch elitist and continue to follow that narrative?
I put out one very obvious condition: the 500-200 rank reward gap (and corresponding reward track progress) does not reflect the casual nature of hotjoin and turns it much more competitive (and unbalanced) than it should be.
But the truth of the matter is this: hotjoin will bear the brunt of the rank farmers because ANet does not want them going and spoiling rated arena matches.
I also think that ideas that were dismissed by you in the other thread would have at least discouraged negative behaviour in hotjoin.
I dismissed them because they all said to stop there. They frantically and rabidly pointed at spectate mode abuse while ignoring the stacking and 5v4 situations, many a result from reward disparity and focus on winning, that led to them in the first place. I said it then and I’ll say it again here: 5v5 matches can’t be abused with spectate mode. Stacking would continue and would even get worse, as there would be one less way to counter it.
to be faceroll at the high levels, because it
needs to be accessible to the casuals and bads.

Yes to all your posts (I did say you had good posts), and yes to the thread. If you do care, I don’t think you’re ‘some out-of-touch elitist that continues to follow the narrative’ With that out of the way, I don’t think I have anything more to say to you now as I have said all that I wanted to say about this issue in this thread and the other.
rank information is finally removed from spectator mode.
thanks for listening to us!
Unfortunately it still hasn’t fixed the issue of 4v5 or Autobalance Wars. :/

aye, indeed. :\
what if we find some incentive to encourage people to not enter spectator mode so freely?
Removing rank in spectator mode doesn’t solved the already deteriorating pvp content. Its just being lazy. Days where i enjoy seeing how pro players played is gone with this stupid patch, now i have to look at the score to wildly guess if he or she is good, but then again, you may say some pro players do not bother about scores. Thus for me, this so called new features is pure stupid.
There is no need for this ineffective solution if arena segregate players through rank For example 0-15, 16-25, 26-35,36-45, etc.
The main problem now is that new players got thrashed, hence, to win the match, these people leave and stays in spectator mode, abuse the auto-balance feature to join the winning team. Try play a Hotjoin, you will see 4v5 4v5 4v5 all the time!
Level 54 Bear Rank
seriously, get a life. play proper pvp and stop whining about autobalancing all the time.
and if you’re outnumbered? viel feind, viel ehr, i’d say.
