I’m playing on plains of ashford and still have my amber rating hovering over my head, this hardly feels appropriate for this portion of the game.

because it is irrelevant to the gamemode of pve.

we like it if they remove it lets do it just for you

+1 to the removal. There’s no need to see my Mastery level in PvP or WvW, please don’t make me see my Ranking in PvE. Yes, it may be good exposure to PvP, but its still clutter that doesn’t need to be there.

PvP tag in PvE is ok. What is funny though is that in WvW you see PvP tag AND PvE mastery rank but NOT the WvW rank.

Ah, but they won’t. As I’ve stated in other post that little marker by your name is really what the whole “League” system is all about. It’s a bs form of prestige you get branded with if you play a single ranked match. The reason it shows in PvE is because they want every sPvP player who just does this causally to feel like complete dogie poo if they do not play enough to earn higher rank.

So your choices to always go in and play unranked where there is prestige based progression whatsoever and no League system for you -or- to play ranked and be branded with shame if you aren’t in a higher league come end of Jan.

Why haven’t you complained about seeing player levels in PvP, which has been around for much longer then?

Allied players see PvP rank and PvE rank. Enemy players see neither. In order to be in line allied players should be able to see them all. I couldn’t possibly care less what some invader sees or not.

well i can see the enemy WVw rank… it’s better than nothing and it’s the only thing that “matter”

well, there should be some equality – so either you see only the gamemode-relevant info, or you see all three (mastery level, leagure division and WvW rank) in every gamemode.

Also, heh, and at the same time they make auras invisible due to “lowering visual clutter”.

Should be optional to display (like a title, but separate). Same thing for masteries, wvw rank, etc.

Eh, just give us an option to hide it if we don’t want to see it on other players. That’s fine enough. I have no problems with seeing it on people as I run around. It’s a nice little touch for someone like me who are invested in all game modes (although I do get seriously frustrated with PvP atm. without Solo Queue, and WvW just feels dead since HoT).

Maybe just amber shouldn’t show up. Since everyone and their mother has it. And it’s the only division you can’t drop points or tiers in.

I don’t really see how this is any different than having your mastery point rank shown. Its just another ‘prowess’ marker. shrug I don’t have an issue with it, just shows people that you do more than one thing in your game play. I would prefer if the icons were a little more…appealing. Rather than just a colored square blog with your tier numeric in it. I mean, would it be so terribly difficult to make them little gemstone icons or something? (And given that gems actually come in color grades, they could even incorporate that for the different ranks, maybe in conjunction with the roman numeral)

At the very minimum, the tag should be only displayed from the 2nd division on, but to be honest, I would probably lock it behind 3rd or 4th division instead. It simply has no prestige otherwise.

How about simply adding option to turn visibility for titles/leagues/mastery off unless player is selected.

I wouldn’t say that necessarily. I haven’t really seen a whole lot of them. I mean, in the eotm zerg I was in last night, there were all of 2 amber, and 1 emerald. Haven’t noticed any in pve as yet.

But that would remove their purpose in pve/ wvw: to show the whole community that you’re a “good” pvp player.

Instead, I’d say that all icons from lower divisions should only be visible in the Heart of the Mists, while icons with real prestige should be visible anywhere.

That makes sense, but considering that there’s barely any difficulty at getting out of amber, the emerald badge isn’t worth much. Now, let’s up that requirement by one and only one division, and have the minimum badge displayed to be sapphire (aka, getting out of emerald). That can actually be worth anything to your average casual player. When you take into account that the pvp playerbase is a minority, locking the badge display behind div2 (your suggestion) or div3 (my suggestion) will make it likely rare in pve.

Whatever happens, amber tag definitely needs to go. Most of the pve players that have it probably only have it because they queued once in patchday just to test the shiny new feature and may probably never enter HotM again anytime soon. That one is the real offender.

By that logic, then the same could be applied to any number of titles in the game. (They required little to no effort to obtain) Which isn’t fair to those that enjoy those titles. They aren’t “worth anything.” They aren’t “prestigious.” But you know what, people still like the option to display them. The same should be applied here. A simple toggle would be more than sufficient.

Toggle seems reasonable.
