It is appalling! I’d like to see it nerfed just so it isn’t used by 50% of solo queuers.

It is demotivating to see all the time.
It is boring to fight.
It is annoying to have on your team.
It encourages passive play.
It rewards passive play over skillful play.
It indirectly encourages players to hurt their team’s ability to rotate.
It is Player Vs. Turret.

The other day, to "that’s a problem with turret engi: you can’t rotate," a turret engi replied "you don’t need to rotate if you are good." That is what this spec does to players. It makes them think they are good, and that there is nothing more to learn.

I don’t really see why… It’s easy enough to kill one full turret engi. The really annoying engis run grenades, toolkit and slick shoes.

I much rather play against a team with a turret engi than a team with an engi using some other build (cele rifle, condi) which are both better builds than turrets.

I think its kittening funny that ppl consider its annoying to have on in your team. This might be the case if its puts you at disadvantage. But I see ppl whining about even when you win games.

The main issue on random teams at least in unranked is ppl not willing to destroy the dps turrets first. I very rarely if ever see this, even if you remind of this easy workaround.

A team with 2 turret engis is a bit annoying I quess but manageable. Its a L2P issue and not even a very diffilcult to learn. Annoying build maybe but if you know the counterplay easy to deal with. Lots of other annoying builds we cant remove all builds that dont please you for some reason.

Its kind of a paradox that ppl complain about some build that is easy to counter and call it braindead afk build (which it is in a way) when they themselves die off fire from stationary turrets because they stand on the fire and dont even try take them out.

One might start to think that ppl that complain nerf this nerf that on a daily basis use up all their time complaining on forums instead of practicing their own counterplay on classes and builds they feel difficult from one reason or another to play against.

Analytical discussion about class balance is another thing. But then you would need some valid arguments.

Honestly, I just hate the build because it promotes terrible play, discouraging new players that don’t play turrets from playing the game, while making new players that do play turrets think they are the bees neez, and annoying any player that favors a class that can’t counter turrets but likes to solo que.

i see turret engis in at least half my matches, be it against or in my team, plus there’s always some bad player on my team trying to 1v1 them whitout even taking out the rocket turret and often costing us the game.

it’s not overpowered it’s just stupid and it should go.

Simply put. This build is unfun to fight against. Especially in soloque, where on engi daily, I always seem to wind up facing at least two on the opposing team.+

The real cancer in the screenshot of the Opener is the profession stacking trough engi daily. This happens with every class daily. I have seen matches full of engi, ranger, mesmer, thief …

I’m sure class daily is partly responsible for the amount of Turret-Engis these days. People who know nothing about engi and don’t won’t to learn a thing about them play Turret-Engi to get their daily with the least afford. So please restrict class daily to practice or even better get rid of it and there will be much fewer Turret-Engis.

The thing which makes it fair is if you ignore him you beat his team 5v4 on 2 points and win the match.

This game is not balanced around 1v1 instead it is balanced 5v5. 1v1 Turret-Engis are very strong, in a team environment they are quite weak.

Only problem with engies are their slick shoes with unlimited knockdowns and an adept trait that knocks back foes when the turret is destroyed https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Accelerant-Packed_Turrets and their healing turrets must increase casting time to 3/4 of a sec.

Ill agree this build is pretty easy to counter when you dont have idiots on your team, I love seeing turret engies drop their kitten on far because then i know we can just fight mid and home. EZ PZ

That said when you have bads on your team it is extremely frustrating to fight turret engies.

1. They require less skill than any other build in the game compared to the reward they receive.
2. The turrets themselves rarely die from cleave, so you have to actually spend time to kill them if you go with that stupid route.
3. Engies can just leave them at one point and go support another which is frustrating because no one wants to fight just ai..
4. Turret engies makes the whole atmosphere in pvp games bad. The build itself makes people feel like better players than they actually are. The amount of trash talk I’ve heard from turret engies is….uncomparable to even classes that i consider require skill or people who play the same class as me. It creates a toxic environment, especially since it creates hate towards the turret engie….even i trash talk them (and i rarely say anything in pvp). 5. 5. Turret engies also create games that just arent fun. I look forward to matches where i can test how good i am on a build and play against actual people. When you go up against teams of 2-3 turret engies the whole game is not about fighting just about rotating (which is ok), but when it does come to fighting its the most frustrating exprience in the game. Chasing after a little asura whose turrets constantly cc you and put out ridiculous damage for what they are, its not fun nor is it challenging, its simply annoying.

Yes cele engies are harder to play against, but at least they are real people and you can try to beat them by playing better than they do.

If you need crate in a 1v1 as a turret engi then you are doing it wrong.

I don’t play turret engi personally but every time I do face one in a 1 v 1 (usually in hotjoin where I don’t care about capping and defending so much) they instantly drop crate. I wouldn’t be surprised if their elite was on auto cast.

premades in hot joins and overpowered classes that dont get fixed absolutely killed the game

All they have to do is to prevent class stacking. Anyway, once you realize that pvp is too broken to be an E-sport and that the scoreboard is meaningless the game becomes more enjoyable.
