power creep still lives?
Don’t think it’s much to do with powercreeping. There’s no major introduction of new content. Maybe you’re counting Plaguelands? I think it’s just a bad matchup for your… setup. Power GS is suffering because of the removal of burst sigils.
I know LB/GS Berserker Amulet/Pack Runes Druid is a cult fetish roaming setup (an extreme example of Power Ranger), but it has clear weaknesses and that is any sort of sustained fight – you +1 and quickly down your target and gtfo.
Condi Engi is fairly outclassed by meta builds and you negate a lot of its pressure if you stick to range or use Survival/pet transfer/Druid traits and skills. If they stealth up for Magnet combo, stunbreak/stability/stealth and negate that. Don’t use the term “go tiny”… Elixir S has just a 3 second invuln and most of the time they dodge roll after and is fairly predictable. You can use the skill, or there’s a trait for activation at 25%.
Condi Necro can be knocked out of Shroud from 1200 range away using Longbow. Watch for Corrupt Boon attempts, and knock them away for pewpew if they have no stability up. Don’t let them come close with Reaper Shroud.
GS while on point is a fairly bad choice in these cases since you are basically giving them free engage. You can use it though, if you are sure you can put out enough damage to force them to go defensive on point.

yeah im trying a well rounded build with both offense and defense cause i dont wanna pew pew but to my disappointment it doesnt have enough sustain
putting shouts up with menders amulet did nothing against engi i was getting roasted in seconds.
seems to power creep just changed stats thats all.
i dont care that he killed me i care of how quickly he killed me

HoT definitely tuned up the pace by increasing condi application, condi removal and boon application. Boon removal in the case of Necro.
If you don’t build around those, then you will be outclassed.
You have 2 options as I see it: go full balls glass Zerker ammy, or Staff Menders and kite everything to the nine hells.
I edited my first response above to make it more helpful, but I’m just your average player so it’s best taken with a grain of salt.

its all good you state the truth burst before getting bursted this is still the state of the game.
im not sure about pew pew ranger against engis. but u are a (super)hard counter against all sorts of necros… condi needs to fight on a range of 900 or shorter . else the dmg is actually 0. (power necro is even better match up). as Ralkuth.1456 said already: roots and pewpew from range is your goal. never fight necro in his range.
im maining necro and i get just rekt by any half decent ranger (talking of a wvw perspective). in pvp you have a little bit more juke points and smaller maps that favours necro slightly more. but still if u practice it u will eat necros

i got reckless with necro on purpose for test didnt really care who was gonna win .
he is build a mele im build a mele he killed me almost instantly while i was build defenselessly ,too much damage . this game will never change the answer to pew pew is still pew pew.

Well the problem might be that you’re playing a GS ranger. Ranger’s aren’t that great against conditions. Druids can cleanse all of them and break stuns every 15 seconds, but ranger really just has the cleanse signet and maybe a few other minor skills that I’m not familiar with. You can also run a rune that cleanses conditions.
Basically, run a spec that can pack in as much sustain (evades, blocks, immunities and heals) as possible while also not sacrificing too much damage. That’s all HoT has been: massive damage specs, that force out massive sustain specs, that force amulet removals, that force back massive damage specs, that force out more massive sustain specs which also have to run damage amulets. I’d call it balanced if it was either high sustain or high damage, but now it’s both. Professions that have many evade and block skills can get away with higher damage amulets, and then some can run tankier amulets like Mender’s because of other entities that compensate for the damage loss (ahem pets ahem).
My point is, run Menders with as many evades and blocks as possible. Fight cheese with cheese. You’ll still have trouble against conditions, but if you learn to dodge all the right skills, you’ll have more luck than you’re having now.
ok guys thanks , ill try multiple dodges since defense means nothing in this game and probably will never mean
Rangers have Signet of Stone for direct damage, and pet transfer for condition management. You can also use Survival skills as there is a trait to remove 2 conditions on skill use.
For Rangers, your positioning matters more than dodging things, since you can only keep up evasion for as long as your cooldowns last you, and in the end if you focus on dodging, you’re not doing any pressure to whoever’s attacking you and they will keep doing what they do unless you can get them to become defensive.
There’s no one best solution for everything, and you have to learn the strengths and weaknesses of each setup to fight them well. The first step to all this is to find a build that works (usually a meta build), watch how people do it, and emulate them.
At the very least, know what killed you, how they killed you and what you can do better next time. Early on (8 years ago when I started PvP in games) I was changing builds frequently, but I realised my build was fine, I just sucked hilariously badly. Now I still scrub around but reviewing mistakes has allowed me to not be a liability.

In terms of stats, this is largely intentional. Most defenses are meant to be active.
Conditions are just out of hand and have been for years. PvP is finally tasting what WvW was like in terms of damage throughput : durability in WvW maybe just before HoT.
You either play the meta or leave player versus player formats entirely. I personally took the latter approach and have since stopped playing GW2 in general.

Well….I def wouldn’t say is “fairly outclassed” by meta builds. I have a condi vanilla engi (as I havent found a good scrapper build I liked again yet) that can topple a lot of the meta builds. A lot also do not use Magnet as well (thats mainly condi scrappers that do). Range is a good counter, however with our access to stealth, CC and pistols have a bit of range, we don’t need to get THAT close to a pewpew ranger before we make them panic.
The best counter to a condi build is a condi build that can send the condis right back (yay necro). Condi builds typically have sup par condi cleanses and if they do, they are sacrificing condi damage/sustain to have it.

so is the power creep still alive?
Huh? Condi engi got nerfed with this balance patch. Protection Injection and Bunker Down were both necessary traits for the build to be even remotely viable, and they both got nerfed last Tuesday. They also removed Sigil of Geomancy and Torment, so condi engi’s damage output is reduced as well.
Condi engi hasn’t really been a viable build outside of unranked for quite a long time, and Tuesday’s patch might’ve been its death knell.
I’d say with the removal of sigil of air/fire, this is more of a condi creep :P
Basically, the way the game is set up now,the higher your DPS burst is and the more disengage and avoidance skills you can equip, the better.
Just pop in,unload the burst and then leave.
Classes that have to stand and fight are at a disadvantage.
lose a pip,win 2 pips,lose a pip,lose a pip…………..-

Condition Engineer is all about unloading their condition burst and then getting the kitten out until the burst is off CD,and then proceed to burst again.
No sane condi Engi will stand and fight. So the nerfs were actually more of a nerf for the Power Hammer Engineers than for the Condition burst ones.
As for the reduction in damage, when you reduce the weight of an elephant by 5kg,that doesn’t say much.It will still hurt like a kitten if it steps on you.

And not only is that burst weaker with the loss of Geomancy/Torment sigils, but they’ll now take more damage while unloading it.
The build got nerfed. There’s no way you can look at Tuesday’s balance patch and think core engi in any way got ahead.
This is also not changing the fact that the build was hardly viable in ranked play in the first place. Anyone that actually dies to a condi engi probably needs to revisit their build; condi mesmer, revenant, necromancer, and even guardian are all far superior condition builds.
