gw1 – healing signet/frenzy/charge
(edited by Fat Disgrace.4275)
Now i am not 100% sure what what anet thought of this option to play as pvp, but when i saw this, I saw this as to practice to pvp and learn but instead it is full of experienced high ranked pvp’s syncing… why would you do that ?
This is not a QQ thread, i left the match way before i even got to that stage. I am just not sure what the crack is with this arena option, why does it have a “practice” option when its not, its just a farm area where people sync up – you have your rank 80 or what ever, why farm inexperienced people ?
at least change the name of that option?

I practice in unranked, “practice” mode seems broken in many ways whenever I play it making it virtually impossible to test new builds/ideas.

Technically, it’s working as intended. Teams are able to join this unranked mode and test their team composition, against others who may also have a strong team composition.
If you’re wanting to test new build and ideas, I recommend hotjoin and dueling.

Well thanks for the advice, but like I said hotjoin (aka “practice”) is broken and duelling is fun but doesn’t teach you how to play a build in a game, and not all builds are set up for duelling.
In my opinion “unranked” is the new hotjoin. It is infinitely better to practice in because you mostly get 5vs5s and randomized teams. “Practice” is filled with spectator cheaters, team stacking, and constant quitting and uneven team numbers. There is no point in playing that mode.
Hotjoin is basically the “kiddie pool” of PvP. It’s mostly there for people to do their Dailies and to muck around, set up dueling servers, guild training arenas etc. You can use it to practice builds by getting familiar with rotations, what skills do, but yeah, if you actually want to practice in a true Conquest 5v5 mode, you need to go to Unranked.
I also thought it was supposed to be practice, but when I see two dragon ranks playing 4 rounds in a row, stacking to one side against noobs I start to wonder what kind of practice they hope to gain from that.
Just use practice mode to learn the layout of maps, routes and where different stuff are located. Then abandon it like the plague and move on to unranked.

What Blackwyn said. I heard it’s even worse now than what HJ used to be. I guess all the normal people who wanted to play and who before were enduring HJ, because they thought soloQ was too hardcore for them or whatever, they now play in unranked, so only scum of the GW2 left in practice now. So i guess it’s a complete dump now.

Practice mode IS hot join.
I personally use practice mode as a warm-up. Go into a map that’s tipped to the other side and see if you can tip it all the way back. When you’re successful, it’s absolutely funny to see people start leaving because they are losing or getting 2v1ed when they themselves were doing the same thing.

Years ago, hotjoin was a blast and every match felt like a wild party. 10v10 zergs in Capricorn brutalizing people with hundred blades before realizing how OP that canon was.
Now, maps are either ghost towns or full of wishy-washy ppl swapping or abandoning teams. It’s basically for people without private servers that want to experiment new builds or troll other players.
