prefessional teams vs well....others
Judging by Rank is a bad idea. Rank has nothing to do with skill.
IMO, there should be different teirs of tPvP. You are matched up with people that have as many pre-grouped members as you have. IE, If you joined with two people, the rest would be randoms and the opposing team would have the same.
@mac:
my whole guild goes in as a pre-made. It doesn’t make us good, or as competative as, say Halycion affinity. Or AC or even TP. And they go in as a pre-made. Granted, rank doesn’t equate skill, I get that, but there is a slight distinction from professional team to my guild got together and is working on tPvP…
There needs to be some form of matchmaking.
they just need to start the paid tournaments so that the “Pro’s” have somewhere to go to fight people worth their time. Trust me, the “Pro’s” are not having the time of their life running over the competition 24/7.
I’ve stayed at this party entirely too long
you still can wait for ladder, so if you are in elo hell ( ), you won’t meet “dedicated teams”(pro is when they are paid to play. don’t know if they are paid, never seen any ad)
by ‘pro’ I mean those that have niched out the very best of teh best builds (and covetly guard these builds) have gaming mice or keyboards so all they have to do is hit a 1 button macro to ‘pwn’ you, and dedicate their very lives to running tPvP over and over again, because they are so good and so fast.
vs
a guild wanting to have a good time, doing team building and playing cometetively.

Do you really think that the material is what makes a top player?
If having a nice build was the only required thing to become a top player, then there would be way more top teams and absolutely no skill cap in this game… I personally play in one of those so called “pro teams”, have beaten TP for instance…
I play on a laptop, with a regular 3 button mouse (including the wheel), which renders your argument quite invalid.
If my team beats (or obliterate, looking at your post you look like one of our usual 500-0 enemies) most teams we fight, it’s not because we found out broken builds etc… Builds are important in this game. Having decent keybinds is also a help. What’s the most important is teamplay and individual skill. If we beat you 1v1, it’s because we outplay you. Stop trying to find a kitten excuse like the macros or the builds, it’s very rude to the players who dedicate time to actually play better.
Now to the main topic, for us it’s also really annoying to face continuously beginner teams. You don’t learn much, and we don’t learn much more either. The only times where I have some actual fun playing tourneys is when we can synch with other top teams; because we know this will be the single one time where we can drop some sweat and have a “competitive” feeling while playing, which is the reason we play.
A matchmaking/rating system should be able to solve most of these issues, and I guess the paid tournament system would also do this, since regular teams will have to think twice before subscribing (top teams will still play tons of them… I already have around 100 tourney tokens) and that’s the first step needed in order to get closer to the Esport goal of this game.
