premades vs solo players
seriously can i have a mode without facing teamspeak palyers?
matches ending 500/100 are not fun and 3 people bashing you every time you enter combat.
bring solo q back before you drive more players out of pvp.
What would you think of a system with two queues, one for 1-3 man party, and one for full premades? What is the advantage of having a solo only queue?

solo q means 1 player only never said that it will be a 3 man party
the advantage is that some people enjoy playing their class rather than coordinating with teamspeak.
with teamspeak everyone instantly knows where you are and what build you play.

If they bring back solo Q it will lay bare just how pathetic the ’competitive scene really is. Team Q will be a handful of teams playing each other over and over. The sooner Anet realize esports is dead with there current format the better it will be for pvp in gw2.
The actual system is fine, the only thing you do need is :
- implementing in-game daily tournaments, so more people will form in hotm, and this will create more guilds/teams
- removing legacy of foefire from choices if the match is premade vs solo( or if not " even numbers premades" , i.e 3+1+1 vs 4+1) : i’m pretty convinced this map doesn’t help solo players dealing with premades
WTB solo que back. It was the only way I got fair fights. This whole ladder system gets me into games where I am beat 200-500. Not fun.

I’m shocked they removed solo queue. The crying of a very very small playerbase of VOIP teams caused Anet to screw over a much larger solo queue population so the VOIP teams could farm the pugs.
I have even less respect for the players on ‘top teams’ then I did back in solo queue days. Most of them I found to be average at best when they stepped into solo queue, clearly carried players. Very few held top spots in both team leaderboards and solo queue.

The advantage of having a solo queue is removing farming and exploits. I consistently queue Ranked as a solo and getting hammered by an organized group seems to be a fairly common experience. I’d very much like to see a queue mode that banned all parties.
The reason they merged team and solo is because there weren’t enough full made teams.
I queue solo 95% of the time and although it sucks going against a full pre-made, I’d use positive psychology and tell my solo queued team “not all premades are unbeatable”.
I’ve been in many many matches where my solo pug team were victorious against premades. Even when we lose a very close match, if everyone gives their best, we still end up enjoying the round. This is likely to occur when the MMR of the players and the teams are just about the same instead of the average of extremes. And you have a better chance of that when there’s a bigger pool of players around.
If no one rage quits or AFK, the 100-500 matches are always due to lack of coordination no matter if you’re going against a solo pug or premade team.

Do you expect people to take your poll seriously with how biased these questions are? And there is no option for 1-4 man queue, 1-3 man queue, 1-2 man queue and full premade queue. What are you trying to achieve? Getting rant buddies?
Being on voice comm can do wonders in this game, so 1-3 man premades have a huge advantage over conventional teams.
It feels terribly unfair and doesn’t help the already bad player retention at all.
That being said winning against a stack is pretty satisfying.

The potential to match solo players with premade groups is something that has been present in many competitive titles (ie Halo 3). I think the important thing to keep in mind is that the system will prioritise balanced matchups based on roster size, the fact that it isn’t working very well may be more a testament to the small PvP population rather than the structure of the matchmaking queues.

That makes sense, in solo queue you’ve removed one of the largest aspects of competitive play (Communication). All they have left to differentiate themselves from everyday players is their personal ability, and GW2 doesn’t have a particularly high skill ceiling; as evidenced by the hoards of cheesy builds that ran rampant in the solo queue playlist.

PLEASE give this man a cookie, he gets it. It’s the usual case of, the rich get richer, the poor get poorer. I miss that little tournament we used to have. NOW, thanks to these so-called ‘pros’ who forced these changes on us & their forum apologists who refuse to see the light, the pvp community is not growing.
All this talk about meta, esports is just that…TALK.
