put ascended tickets in unranked too

+1 this. Give unranked the same rewards, yes it would reduce ranked population but it would help create a more healthy environment in ranked thus bringing new players and old players in over time.
What’s going on at the moment clearly isn’t working and anet really need to throw a big spanner in the works not just apply band-aid after band-aid. I would rather be playing with a smaller healthier population that are actually competitive and want to get better.
Population is our biggest problem right now yes, so we need to bring players in and keep the current players playing. The only way to do that is to create a more healthy environment.
How else do can you do it? Force players through tutorials and ranks on different professions? Better rewards? Separate duo ranks into their own leaderboard? Remove duo que completely? Add team que? Maybe automated tournaments will save the day? Something has to change surely.
You get rewards without having to move up in tiers ranked should be the only one with rewards for the You know Ranked League rewards……
Make the meta fun diverse and “fun” again and you will have a better game. Rewards don’t make the game better or more attractive for a player (on the long run).

I dont want anything lowered, I think it’s fine the way it is but when you’re trying to go up in rank & 3 out of 5 players don’t give a flying hoot – what would you suggest? I’ve suggested taking ascended out of pvp & there was alot of hate for that too

mainly because some of us want to climb the tier ladder? unranked isn’t normally taken as seriously. I personally think ascended should be taken out entirely. That’s just me though.

Offering these rewards in unranked is lowering the requirements of having to gain ranks to get rewards, it is like saying “oh you can get legendary armor by playing an easy mode” and frankly I don’t see how people will be more motivated to win in unranked….other than that it also is pretty unfair because in unranked, players can put up a full 5 man party against pure randoms. You can twist it all around but that doesn’t change the fact that you are asking to get top tier rewards in an easy way for a game mode that doesn’t require tiers of gear in the first place.

I have lost a multitude of ranked games this season, things I’ve experienced so far:
People who have map chat/team chat turned off
AFKs
My team zerging, then complaining that the 1 person isn’t capping
1 or 2 people telling everyone not to worry about home, and the team listens
Not targeting
Did I mention AFKs?

Players admitting to not having a clue, they just want the ascended tickets.
It makes me so toxic & hate your pvp.So, please anet. Allow ascended rewards in unranked as well.
I was low platinum last season, I had started silver & worked my way up
This season I ranked low gold with a thief for placings; Now that I play to win, it’s loss after loss & I’m now mid silver. It’s not about the rewards, I Play for competition.
& my sr keeps jumping from 1000 to 1500. It’s currently 1099.

Ranked is for more serious PvPers. Or at least what’s left of them.
Unranked is for testing builds.
Get a team who knows how to rotate and knows their class.
Personally I think they need to take them away all together.
Leave them in ranked.
I lose over and over because new players are doing ranked and they have 0 concept of staying on point to cap, don’t chase off points just for 1 kill, rotation. they do all of those things – OH and won’t stomp and instead press 1 or waste the big skills on a downed enemy player instead of ressing.
And why should anyone play ranked then? For silly badge that they can’t even show because it is disabled in other game mode and that goes away after a while.
Ranked supposed to be for better competition -> better rewards. Look at fractals, it is same there. Higher fractal levels give better rewards. You are not going to get legendary armor by just doing escort every week.
As far as placement goes, if you were plat last season, you should have no issues climbing back again. Yes, matchmaking is the worst atm and it is like playing lottery but gold/silver are filled with players that you can literary 1v3, even on thief (coming from personal experience).

I honestly think you should only get pips if you win. However that goes completely against ANet’s way of thinking when it comes to GW2. So, meh.
