during last patch it was datamined that anet might start gating rank/unrank pvp game by players rank, now before you spam comments well rank doesnt matter blah blah. i hope this is true, because this will prevent new players from jumping in to ranked matches and ruining other players because they have no clue to even cap a point. and yes i seen players like that. i wish only rank 80 players get to play ranked match. i rather play with bad lvl 80 than a new player who has no clue what they doing. https://www.reddit.com/r/Guildwars2/comments/3cfv9o/datamining_upcoming_features_from_the_july_7/

80 is a bit much. I’ve been pvping for about 4 months and I’m only at 53 but I do as well as most 80s. If I had to wait another 3+ months to get to ranked I’d just quit the game.

I think it’s more likely it’ll be more like rank 5 or 10. Enough that they’ve seen a few different maps and have the basic idea of what to do.
