pvp patch
You will not get an answer because before a dev can write up a response they will be unfairly bashed by the rabid sPvP community
I don’t understand why they seemingly choose to respond to the nastiest and unproductive comments and while simultaneously ignoring everyone who is asking legitimate questions nicely.
You’ve got 6 people wanting a simple Yes/No answer a very simple question, yet we get a response to WoW vs GW2? A bit disappointing…
Isn’t learning how to deal with (or simply just ignoring) trolls and negative people (which will exist in every online community) an essential trait for community interaction and public relations?
Now we have 3 new topics created all asking the same thing because of one bad apple. What’s the point of that?

Seriously, just answer the kittening question instead of getting all kitteny that people are disrespecting your staff. They aren’t, we just wanna know.
4 months for some bug fixes,, another two to revamp 1 bleed or 4% regen or something else. Its like 1-2 dev person facing bunch of horde maniac players.. Pretty sad for the community.

I am quite sure they wont answer this question just so they are not obligated to do anything, its like those cheesy companies that doesnt sign anything so you cant sue them afterwards.
If they decide they want to release the balance patch they are gonna say “we already told you there is gonna be maintance patch and talked about these changed in stream” if they decide to delay few more months they just gonna say “this aint no feature patch we never said anything about them coming on 18th”
win/win
I cant find any definitions of maintenance patch and feature patch so if you create your own termins then you make the rules what is what.

WHEN ITS READY! * soon * . down the road. In the pipe line. 2014.

Yeah its been 2 hours since this thread was posted. I guess Allie has better things to do than coordinate the community.

This. Whatever happens, there’s no real record of them saying anything concrete — very politician-like.
Anet is really good at spin and hype. But there’s a point where if you don’t deliver, people will no longer listen.
NOWHERe
Manage your expectations to avoid disappointment.
Is game balance a new feature or maintaining current?
Game balance would be a new feature, since we have never had balance in the game previously – hence “new”.
Hope this helps!
New pvp patch? March 18 they will be changing pvp by removing Glory. We should count that as the one pvp patch they will give us – the rest will be living story / pve. Rejoice! PVP patch soon!
Does it really mean that the PvP rewards will suffer to being extremely horrible from the 18th March til the proper new rewards will be added? Or am I missing something?
No, I think you’ve got it summarized pretty well actually.
when not : March
when : I don’t know . stay tuned & hold your breath
Don’t do this! You will pass out if you try, it could be quite dangerous actually.
Expect it “never” and rejoice when you are proven correct!
Easy answer: Never! Makes the most sense too!
The new reward system is down the road, with no real ETA given at this stage.
The discussion is about how ladders/seasons can be implemented effectively and provide sufficient rewards for everyone. Not about the entire new reward system in pvp.
Still, that means we are not getting any new rewards until this new reward system is implemented, which judging from how slowly ANet usually implements stuff for PvP could be anywhere from 3 to 6 months (if not more)…
Sounds pretty accurate actually.
I’m confused, wouldn’t this be better to do it in all one big patch? :|
But then you wouldn’t be able to claim to have done 2 (two!) pvp patches in one year!
The big pvp patch will happen later.
You mean Soon. ™
When It’s Ready.™
Never.
This guy has an accurate grasp of the Anet development cycle.
15/23 of the threads on the first page relate to the upcoming pvp patch! We must all be quite excited to have Glory removed (and nothing added!)!
Sounds pretty revolutionary really, and might finally put an end to the current meta’s dominance.
Alright Anet you just made me pre-order TESO (seriously). It may not be a godsend game, but I think I’m just going to run around in Cyrodiil instead of hanging around waiting like the past 1.5 years for this (or WvW) to really get going. I don’t know how you can be any worse at communicating to a playerbase. After testing TESO it is refreshing to see the difference with the devs over there in how they communicate/respond to the community. You may have been able to create a really good combat system with a lot of potential, but you lack in a lot of other areas versus the competition. And the comment about Blizzard is just funny to me… what does being out 10 years vs 2 have to do with creating a better iteration process to balance changes. To me it’s all about desire/pride, which doesn’t show. You guys aren’t new to this either… GW1 came out in 2005.
I’m also just astounded that this balance patch isn’t hitting before the TESO headstart (which is why I thought March 18th was picked tbh)… it may or may not put a dent in Spvp/WvW, but you are just asking for it, and had ample opportunity to send a message ahead of time. Luckily this game doesn’t require a sub or this would be even worse. Hopefully the game turns out for the better in the future, though hope may be gone after this mess today on the forums.
Bad form… bad form… you guys don’t come off as professionals.. just so amateur in critical opportunities.

Woah, they didn’t like all the separate threads complaining about their lack of proper communication (or development) and merged them! My bumping of each thread now looks a bit strange….
c’mon devs,
come march 18th you’re actually taking a large part of pvp away from us with the removal of glory and the vendors,
and all you’re leaving us with is a vague hint that we “might” enjoy something in the feature build that “might” be released in afew months time…
If the recent removal of fractal ranks for the fractal leaderboard (which never came) is any indication, there isn’t actually going to be anything to replace what was lost.
I personally pride myself on be a details guy, but admit I am also confused about this. I thought it was clear on Ready Up a month ago that the next balance patch would follow the first living world season.
I thought March was when that was going to happen and like most others, thought March was then when we’d see the next balance patch. But this does not appear to be the case? So, after the first living world season means what, exactly?
