what are they doing besides removing glory

i think healing signet will be 361 health per second instead of 392 health per second.

supposedly something huge and amazing that they’ve decided not to tell us about so we can’t give them feedback before hand.
so if you hate it, sorry you’re stuck with it (think skyhammer)

in seriousness though i think they’re planning on letting you use your pvp appearance in pve and vice/versa

ummm probably they adding 1 more knockback on the decap engy, 1 more inmunity on warrior, spirits now split when killed, thieves will have 1 extra endurance bar, ellys will be inmune to physical dmg if they are at 100% hp (wich can be combined with diamond) but after a while they will nerf that and ummm oh yeah i forgot 1 more condi to necros becouse what the hell, is a necro rigth?

If there’s been no content update since release (there was skyhammer though, LOL), why would you expect something massive now? Shouldn’t that be evidence that this will be more of the same?

I heard that march 18th isnt the big patch. I think Anet is going to take a break then release a huge fiture patch

From what we know, we are not getting anything beyond the glory removal on March 18th. The big pvp patch will happen later.

1.5years in, and they are finally asking what we want, highly doubt these will be implemented since they never listen. Mostly just for show…

They should just admit that GW2 PVP failed and start working on GW3….

Q: What is happening to the rank reward chests and their respective vendors?
A: The chests will be removed from the game as a reward. You will still keep the ones in your inventory until they are used, but we will no longer be giving them out or selling them in any avenue.

There is no ETA given for the rewards revamp patch other than “down the road”.

The chests are being removed entirely from the game on the 18th. Rank points will be awarded at the end of the game, there will be no more rank vendors to get chests from.

I remember reading somewhere..saying that we will be able to earn some type of currency early in preparation for the new rewards that we will be able to redeem them (rewards) with.

I was under the impression we’d get some kind of new rewards but it seems all we’ll get is more rank points… but getting higher ranks won’t award us anything since we won’t be getting any glory and all the rank vendors will go. So this means no new rewards until the devs decide to add a new system which discussions have only started…

I’m confused, wouldn’t this be better to do it in all one big patch? :|

The new reward system is down the road, with no real ETA given at this stage.

The discussion is about how ladders/seasons can be implemented effectively and provide sufficient rewards for everyone. Not about the entire new reward system in pvp.

Still, that means we are not getting any new rewards until this new reward system is implemented, which judging from how slowly ANet usually implements stuff for PvP could be anywhere from 3 to 6 months (if not more)…

Easy question, easy answer. We’re tired of waiting since launch for a real competitive pvp.

If you are “still waiting for a real competitive pvp”.. no patch will ever satisfy you.

c’mon devs,
come march 18th you’re actually taking a large part of pvp away from us with the removal of glory and the vendors,
and all you’re leaving us with is a vague hint that we “might” enjoy something in the feature build that “might” be released in afew months time…

why all the cloak & dagger? we’re in dire need of reasons to not move on to other games, so if you have something that you think we “might” enjoy, you should probably tell us before there are very few of us left to “maybe” enjoy it.

you can’t expect us to linger around for half a year with one game mode and no content on nothing but a vague answer that we might enjoy something…

Game balance is considered a “feature” by Anet. I made the thread that just got closed in order to clarify this for the community but sadly a proper, professional dialogue could not be maintained.

So to answer your question again: There will be no balance changes on March 18th. Glory is being removed. Rank point rewards have been “adjusted”.

The pvp community is rabid because of the lack of pvp content/updates.

allie asked in the other thread how we managed to expect 3/18 to be a feature patch… didnt that come from ready up? they talked about runes/sigils, ferocity, and balance changes… and the only patch they mentioned was 3/18. were we not supposed to connect the two? did they never directly say 3/18 is the feature patch in ready up? did they only mention 3/18 with respect to pvp glory?

Not sure if this is being asked and I certainly can not find the answer to this question either..

The longer answer – it is not the March 18th Maintenance Patch.

The Longest answer – probably wait until the Ready Up stream on Friday. It seems everyone is way too riled up and toxic for any response by Arenanet to be received positively at this time.

There are 8 topics on the first page of this forum, alone, asking for dates for future updates. Multiple ANet responses, all avoiding the question.

The toxicity is excessive, yes, but you can’t expect players to be anything less than frustrated at the terrible lack of communication being shown right now.

Where I got confused in this being the feature patch, is when it was mentioned that glory, chests etc were being removed. I assumed that when it was said that these stuff were being removed, that new stuff would be added to replace them. Making the 18th including all the new stuff along with the new rewards.

But after getting clarification that the 18th March patch is not a feature patch by one of the other threads. I would like to get an answer regarding the PvP rewards.
Does this mean that the 18th March patch will just be removing the glory, glory booster and match chests without replacing it with anything at all til a much later date for when the new PvP rewards will be added?

Does it really mean that the PvP rewards will suffer to being extremely horrible from the 18th March til the proper new rewards will be added? Or am I missing something?

All we know right now is that on March 18th, Glory rewards are going away and nothing else is being added (i.e balance changes, new modes, etc.).

This plus the added fact that the devs, knowing full well that the players expect to be given a lot shortly and are confusing the incoming maintenance patch with the “feature patch”, actively ignore this fact and then act confused when players get upset that features were removed with none being added.

I completely agree with the OP. Sometimes it feels like South Park’s reference to Game of Thrones. “Don’t worry. The content is coming, and it’s going to be aweseome!”…

The confusion for me came from the ready up stream, I think Grouch said several times they feature patch would take place in march.

Now they make a distinction between maintenance and feature patch, which wasn’t clear when they announced those kinds of patches. So miscommunication how those patches would work is my guess.

I as well thought this patch on the 18th would be updated with class balance regarding the ready up stream. It just seemed that when they said this would take place after the living story ends that the 18th was what they were talking about. I am pretty dissapointed that after waiting forever for the 18th to come I now have to wait several more months after that for my Ele to be playable (hopefully). I just hope that after months and months of waiting they will have something really good for us.
