question about solo'ing ranked queue
I just started pvping and doing unranked arena, and manged to get high win/loss ratio because I started as a turret engineer. I later decided to try other classes. But regardless I already accumulated many wins.
Today I realized how brutal my schedule is. I loss 5 match in a row, 2 of them are premade, 1 is a group of 3, and another I loss 500-0 on courtyard.
Anyway, I’m heading back to 50% win ratio. Which is probably a good thing. Hopefully the matchup won’t be as brutal when I go down. And I really need to go down so I can start playing other classes. Those wins my turret engineer accumulated is coming back to hunt me.
High MMR + Solo + Ranked Arena = Nope.
It’s painful.
It’s team whoever loaded I to the map first. It has nothing to do with mmo or ldr board rank according to ANET
You can’t really judge your skill by your win rate or you leaderboard position because as you climb the leaderboard and you mmr increases you are more likely to run into the following problems.
1) You queue solo and come up against a team with a group of pugs. You’re going to lose because you’re fighting a premade.
2) The game uses you to balance out a low team to fight another team, which means you can be partnered with bads vs averages and still lose.
There are quite a few “top” players that aren’t high on the leaderboard because their solo queuing has forced them into bad matchups that you can’t carry.
I think you’re being paired to balance out the equation.

do you know where i can find this quote from anet?
I am getting a lot of matches where I lose but not by much. just finished a match 457-500 for example. it seems like i am being given bad odds but im keeping the games closer than expected so MMR keeps rising even though I keep losing?
weird i have 4 GB of ram
