whats with ranger now?
i rly want to know you still work on this profession or not…

there was a state of the game i remember with battosai and you was speak about
some things like

-active condi cleanse (each ranger build still need 30 points in wildness survival)
-a viable dps ranger build (longbow skills and longsword skill still crap)
-more pet skills controll (well i know you dont want do that….)
-rework some pets ( ~75% of pets are still useless)

atm ranger have only 1 viable build and thats still the
spirit ranger and it get nerfed and nerfed..
(and anet call it bugfix…btw the “spirits dont cast there active skills bug” is not fixed yet. now the spirits dont cast the active when i press my buttons to fast after the 1 second cooldown :P)

sure, spirit ranger is still viable, but win 1vs1 with it on close is for sure over in tpvp
the warrior, s/d thief, bomb engi and mesmer will destroy it hard,
necro win it 50/50 chance.
well thats enough to dont use this build for close or send it into 1vs1 situations,
but thats not the problem, spirit ranger is still not bad for teamfights.

the problem is, its the ONLY ONE viable build
and i think in future meta its not a must have for teams.

the problem is the not working builds…

dps ranger:
still crap and i think it will stay bad if anet not will rework the full longsword, longbow and offhand skills…
this skills feel so bad and slow, not working together for a 1vs1 or teamfight situation.
there was so much dmg buffs in the last patches for this weapons but they are still not viable… i think because the weaponskills itselfs sux to hard…
well also most traits are not good for dps ranger builds.

trapper ranger:
well spirit ranger is so much stronger then trapper ranger and spirit ranger is a support build…
that not means spirit ranger need a nerf again, it means trapper ranger need a huge buff…
you should think about bring more traits for trapper or give the only 2 tapper traits into an other traitline or make it a 10 points and 20 points trait.
dont know, but this build needs so sure a buff (it was most fun to play ranger in the past…)

beastmaster ranger:
well dont know it was not bad in the past and it was only a 1vs1 build.
now the most bad joke at this is, it dont wins 1vs1s any more
the bomb engi, mesmer, necromancer and for sure the warrior just eat it
think i forget some builds which destoy it 1vs1, but only testet vs this atm

at least skills nobody use on ranger, maybe that means they are useless.. Oo

this ones are rly bad skills nobody ever use

protect me
sharpening stone
muddy terrain
frost trap
frost spirit
signet of stone
signet of the hung
well this ones are not so bad, but well nobody use them

what do you guys think, pls only constructive posts (yes also devs, to much troll posts at last time)
(ranger hater or love only there own profession ppls pls stay out)

BM was nerfed (pets, now energy) other proff’s buffed, so that build has gone from strong 1v1 to poor. I agree, rangers need an active condition cleanse and some burst potential outside of a long channel in order for power to be viable. Spirits, yea with the elite its top tier still, without it, mid tier imo. Rangers need some love:D

They said the Ranger patch was soon one year ago and they couldn’t finish it in one patch. Next patch after that was underwater weapon tool tip changes though.

While I still don’t like how the spirits work, the build isn’t as OP as it was (apart from OP screen clutter), however I think it is very viable.

Also, BM is still decent in my opinion for 1v1 type play or backpoint holding (although it had been nerfed), I use it when I play ranger, and I manage quite ok.

personally I cant stand to play bm anymore. Cats, the strongest dps pet, easily miss 30% of their attacks on a moving target. If their chilled/immob/crippled you can forget about them doing any damage and of course the lag on f2. My favorite ranger play style is traps, unfortunately, outside of a couple choke points and surprise attacks, they suck. The cooldown on spike trap is 15 or so seconds? When I play a condition warrior im able to get close to 50 stacks of bleeds in that timeframe; while necros and engineers will apply EVERY SINGLE CONDITION in the game probably twice over in the same time frame, its a joke. Eh /shrug rangers as a proff need some work, hopefully next balance patch will see some of the changes they need
