ranger spirits
I don’t know why they need anything other than a range increase.
GW1 Spirit range was well known for being large, spirits themselves though were pretty much paper. They rarely got hit in pve because you positioned them out of the way, and if someone wanted to take a spirit out specifically in pvp they had to go out of there way to do so.
Can’t remember who but someone in Sotg mentioned Flagging them. Would be a huge benefit, but really all that is needed primarily because the range sucks and you need this thing able to take a hit because you can’t get good positioning with it.
Spirits are a 60 sec cd, and increasing their range would do nothing in dungeons when the rooms you often have to work with don’t even extend beyond 1500 range and boss AI actually actively pursues spirits and throws aoe their way.
Also, spirits aren’t used just because they die easy. It’s because their benefits suck.
A 4 sec prot proc on a 10 sec ICD, for a 60 sec cd utility slot. Meanwhile your ele got that for 10 trait points everytime he switches to earth attunement, gets it on demand instead of a proc chance, and his trait can give the group might and regen and swiftness as well.
Their activated abilities aren’t much better, and their activation time is something like 2 seconds.
Utility slots are extremely valuable, and to use a spirit the ranger is either giving up a stunbreaker, his toughness/regen signet, or traps or condition removal.
Just like shouts, spirits are garbage utilities for rangers.
